"THE GOOD NEWS"
"I'm very much available, in fact, I'll be on my way now," Mia said happily, ending the call. The woman on the other end began to ask another question, but Mia cut her off.
"Ma, keep your job for those who are worth your meager salary. I'll take my leave now," she said with a smile, hurrying out of the mall.
"That little thing!" The woman shouted angrily, but Mia was already gone.
A few minutes later, Mia arrived at BT Company and approached the secretary. "Hello, ma'am," she greeted jovially.
"Oh, Miss Mia, we meet again. If you still want the job, you have to come for the interview the day after tomorrow at 9 a.m.," the woman said.
"I'll be very much available for the interview, ma. Thank you so much," Mia replied, rushing out of the company and hurrying to her friend's mall. She jumped up in excitement, beaming with joy.
"Somebody's daughter is thrilled," Nora said, sighing as Mia bounced up to her, still on cloud nine.
"Join me in the celebration," Mia said, dancing to no music in particular. Nora joined in, and the workers stared at them in disbelief.
After minutes of dancing, Mia hugged Nora tightly, showering her with kisses on her face. "What the heck, girl? Do I look like Dylan?" Nora asked, teasing Mia as she playfully hit her head.
"I'm getting a job soon," Mia finally said, still grinning.
"Woo-ah! This calls for a celebration! Is it a company or was it that mall you told me about?" Nora asked anxiously.
"Hell no! I'm getting a job at BT Company," Mia replied.
"You don't mean it, baby?" Nora asked, eyes wide with excitement.
"Of course, I do, girl!" Mia said, laughing.
"Wow, you'll be working in the Greek god, Bryson's company! Oh my gosh, that guy is so hot!" Nora exclaimed, beaming with excitement.
"Excitement" was written all over Nora's face. "Bryson? Who's that?" Mia asked innocently.
"Don't tell me you don't know the Great Bryson?" Nora asked, her eyes almost popping out of their sockets.
"Free me, Nora, who the hell is he?" Mia asked nonchalantly.
"He is a very hot Greek god whose life screamed wealth and fame," Nora said, blushing tomato red.
"Anyways, I'm glad I'm getting a job at last," Mia said, not wanting to continue with Bryson's discussion.
"Hey girl, if he asks you out, don't even think twice before saying yes, I heard he's single," Nora said, and Mia gasped in surprise.
"You naughty girl, remember I have a boyfriend, you can date him yourself," Mia said.
"And remember he's a psychopath," Nora retorted angrily.
"Whatever!" Mia shouted as she rolled her eyes.
Nora pulled her into a hug and whispered into her ears, "If you don't want him, don't hesitate to set me on a blind date with him, remember I'm single," she chuckled, and Mia hit her back playfully.
"You silly thing," Mia groaned.
"So what job will you be doing at BT?" Nora asked, breaking the hug, staring at Mia in excitement.
"Dunno, but I heard the lady at the recruitment department talking about the CEO's P.A who resigned recently," Mia said.
"Are you freaking serious? Oh my gosh! I'm gonna faint from excitement," Nora said, shouting like a lunatic and started dancing again.
"When is the interview?" she asked, trying to calm herself.
"The day after tomorrow," Mia replied.
"Okay girl, you've got this," she said, and they giggled, playing like high school teens.
The day before the interview...
"I'm getting a job at BT company," Mia told him reluctantly as he stared at her in astonishment.
"You don't mean it?" Dylan asked, thrilled to hear this.
"Of course I do, have I ever told you a lie?" Mia asked, rolling her eyes.
"You lucky sweet thing," Dylan said, squealing in excitement as he carried Mia in his arms and rained her with lots of kisses.
"Dylan, please I need you to promise me something," Mia said in a pleading voice.
"Name anything, baby, I'll gladly do it for you, your happiness comes first," Dylan said, his heart racing, waiting patiently to hear what she had to say.
"Don't you ever come to BT company to try anything funny, I can't afford to lose this job again," Mia pleaded, and Dylan heaved a sigh.
"Fine! If that's what will truly make you happy, you know I love you and your happiness comes first, but I also want you to promise me something," Dylan said.
"Go ahead."
"Don't make any male friends in this new company, and whenever you are talking to them, maintain a social distancing of about five meters," Dylan said, and Mia let out a loud guffaw.
"Do I look like a clown to you? What's funny? I meant every word I said," Dylan yelled.
"Okay, fine! Boyfriend, I will certainly do that," Mia said sarcastically as she rolled her eyes.
He hugged her, and after some hearty conversations, they parted ways.
