AT THE BEACH
Mason was in his office reviewing the previous day's documents when his P.A., Harrison, entered and bowed. "Yes, did you find her?" Mason asked icily.
Harrison cleared his throat before speaking up. "Oh yes, boss. She's out of the country for now."
"What do you mean by that?" Mason asked.
"Miss Mia and Mr. Bryson traveled to Australia for a business deal and won't be back until the following week," Harrison replied.
Mason's face turned red with anger. "Holy shit! Make sure you set me an appointment with her when she arrives."
Harrison nodded and left the office. Mason gritted his teeth and muttered, "Bryson!"
Meanwhile, Mia yawned tiredly as she stretched herself. She stared at Bryson, who was sitting across from her. "Boss, I'm glad we've made deals with a lot of investors in just five days. Two more days to go, and we're back in the States."
Bryson replied coldly, "Yeah."
They both entered the car and zoomed off. Mia was surprised to see Bryson taking another route.
"Boss, that doesn't lead to the hotel," she said.
"I know. We're going to the beach to have some fun. We've been working all day," Bryson replied.
Mia squealed in excitement. "Aww, you're too sweet. That's so thoughtful of you. I would love to sunbathe on the beach and play with a beach ball."
But then, she frowned and pouted. Seeing the expression on her face, Bryson became worried." Any problem?" He asked. "I can't do all these with the long dress I'm wearing."
Bryson chuckled and said, "Those will be provided at the beach for you."
Getting to the beach...
Mia changed into the beach wears and hat provided by a young lady at the beach. Bryson removed his clothes, leaving him in only his underwear. He couldn't help but stare at Mia, who kept laughing and shouting at the sight of the beach. She looked beautiful in the beach wears.
"I think I'm in love," he thought inwardly.
Bryson and Mia played with the beach ball, sunbathed on the beach, and made castles with the beach sand. They giggled as they had fun, and Mia kept taking pictures and posting it on her IG. When they were exhausted, they sat on the sand close to the waters, staring at the moving water and the people playing.
"That was fun!" Mia exclaimed.
"I know, right?" Bryson chuckled, and there was silence.
"Boss, can you tell me about yourself?" Mia asked, and Bryson was stunned for a while before finally speaking up.
"Nothing much about me. I lost my mom at a tender age. My dad remarried, and my stepmom and her son hated me. When I came of age, my dad died and gave me the biggest company, BT, then it was LT (Logan Tyler), but I had to change it to my name. He willed the second company to my stepbrother... umm... I think that's all," he said in a low voice and became sad all of a sudden.
Mia felt sad and held his hands, patting his back. "I'm sorry about that, boss. I didn't know; I wouldn't have asked you such," she said, feeling guilty.
"No, Mia, it's fine. Now, can I know about you too? Even though I read your resume, there's nothing much about it," Bryson said.
"Um... lost dad at a tender age too, became the family's breadwinner though mum is helping too with the family's restaurant. I have a little bro also; he's in high school. Nothing much about me too," Mia said and chuckled.
"That's sad. Sorry about that," Bryson said sadly, and there was silence. They both stared into the moving water in front of them.
Mia's ringing phone jolted them out of their thoughts. Mia frowned as she saw that it was Dylan; she hissed and ended the call.
"Who was that?" Bryson asked.
"Um... my ex," Mia replied sadly.
"You didn't tell me about your love life," Bryson said and chuckled.
Mia sighed and was silent for a while. After what seemed like an eternity, she explained everything about her relationship with Dylan to Bryson, and he gasped in surprise.
"He's really crazy. So he was the one I ordered my security to throw in a cell that day. I thought it was an assault," Bryson said, and Mia was stunned.
"You saw that?" "Of course, I did."
"Hm, so tell me about yours," Mia said, and Bryson frowned.
"No, I don't wanna talk about it," Bryson said and started walking away. Mia chuckled and ran after him.
"But I told you mine," she pouted.
"Mine was painful," Bryson blurted out.
"Mine also was painful, but I still told you," Mia protested as she ran after Bryson, who was running away. She stepped on a stone by mistake and almost fell down, but Bryson saw this and came to her rescue immediately. He held her by the waist and prevented her from falling.
Mia was frightened; she thought she was going to fall, but was glad when Bryson came to her rescue. They stood still in that position, staring into each other's eyes.
"My knight in shining armor," Mia muttered, and Bryson came back to his senses. He quickly removed his hand and started walking away.
"Are you shy?" Mia giggled and ran after him, holding his hands.
"Hell no," Bryson said, rolling his eyes.
"So tell me about it," she insisted.
"Okay, fine! We dated for five years, but she cheated on me with my stepbrother and also leaked important information from our company to him, which led to a problem in the company, so we broke up. But the bitch still has the nerve to call me, telling me she loves me and misses me. She also told me she's coming back to the States. Can you imagine?" Bryson said, wearing a gloomy expression and clenching his fists in anger.
Mia hugged him from behind and cooed. "It hurts so much. She should be ashamed of herself, but boss, you need to let go of your past. Everybody hurts sometimes, but everything is gonna be alright."
Bryson was speechless as he turned to her and pulled her into a tight hug. Mia was stunned as she forced a smile.
