HIS JEALOUSY
Bryson couldn't explain why he was so worked up. He kept venting his anger on the innocent car. "Boss..."
"Just shut the hell up!" Bryson blurted out as he continued racing, while Mia kept mute, praying to get home in one piece.
Bryson finally brought the car to a halt at the hotel and stepped out in annoyance. He removed his tie immediately after entering the room and breathed in and out, hyperventilating in anger.
As soon as Mia entered, he turned to her. "You! What the hell do you think you're doing?" he shouted, and Mia was surprised and scared.
"I..."
"Don't you ever dress like that again in public!" That was the only thing he said before storming out of the room.
Mia was flabbergasted. She sat down and thought for a while. "Why is he so worked up because of Mr. Anderson? Acting as if he's my boyfriend," she scoffed, and her stomach rumbled in hunger.
"First day in Australia, and I'm starving," Mia sighed in frustration. As if God heard her prayers, there was a knock on the door.
"Yes, come in," Mia answered, and one of the hotel workers entered, smiling. "Ma'am, what would you like to eat? Mr. Bryson sent me to you."
"That jerk, so he has a heart after all. I would like to have a BLT with extra mayonnaise," Mia replied, and the worker nodded before leaving and returning with her order.
"Goodness gracious, I hope I won't eat the plate with it," Mia exclaimed as she ate hungrily. She was almost done with the food when Bryson entered with a shopping bag and threw it at her.
"Wear this whenever we're going out. You can only wear your clothes when we're in the room," he said and went to sit on his own bed, far away from her. Mia gasped in surprise.
"You don't have to, boss," she replied shyly.
"I didn't ask for your opinion," he replied icily and took out his phone, typing on it. Mia smiled as she opened the bag, but her smile froze and was replaced with a frown the moment she laid her eyes on the clothes.
There were various clothes inside - long dresses that would reach her feet, skirts, trousers, and blouses that wouldn't reveal a bit of her cleavage or any part of her body. They would even reach her neck if she put them on.
"Boss, thank you for this, but I don't think I can wear this long-fitting clothes. I'm not used to it," she murmured.
"Like I said earlier, Mia, I didn't ask for your opinion. It's either you wear those for all our meetings here in Australia or quit being my P.A. and go back to the States this minute," Bryson replied coldly.
"What the hell," Mia muttered as she put the clothes aside. "Well, he left me with no choice," she thought inwardly as she packed up her meal, having lost her appetite. The worker came in and packed it before leaving again.
"Thank you for the meal, boss. Have you eaten?" Mia asked, staring at the cold Bryson, who looked devilishly handsome.
"Um... yeah," Bryson replied, trying hard to avoid her gaze before he got enchanted by her.
"I'm sorry for what happened earlier. I didn't mean to," Mia pleaded, trying to start a conversation with him.
"It's not your damn fault, Mia. It's that son of a bitch who causes it, so stop blaming yourself for what you're not responsible for," Bryson blurted out, and Mia smiled.
"Were you jealous?" Mia teased, and Bryson jumped up in surprise, almost falling from the bed.
"Hell no! Why should I be? Do I look like I care?" He yelled, even though he knew he was lying. Earlier that day, when Mia showed up dressed that way, he had butterflies in his stomach and wouldn't stop stealing glances at her. She looked ravishingly beautiful, and he kept falling for her over and over again, even though he refused to admit he was falling for her.
"But you acted as if you were," Mia replied, and he rolled his eyes before speaking up.
"Look, Mia, I would do that for anyone. He passed his boundaries, and I flared up. As a responsible CEO, I need to protect my P.A."
"Aww, why does that sound like a boyfriend being overprotective of his girlfriend?" Mia said, chuckling, while Bryson forced a smile.
Meanwhile, Dylan was in his apartment eating his lunch as different thoughts ran through his mind. Suddenly, the door flung open, and Kyle came running inside. He was glad to see Dylan eating and rushed to him, grabbing his spoon and taking a spoonful of the meal.
"Hm... this tastes yummy," he said as he licked his lips. Dylan glared at him as he tried to collect his spoon back from him.
"If I were you, I would be crying now instead of fighting over a meal," Kyle said, taking another spoonful of the meal.
"What do you mean by that?" Dylan asked, watching Kyle, who had almost finished his meal. Kyle licked his lips before picking up his phone, typing on it, and handing it over to Dylan, who was confused.
Dylan was stunned to see what was on the phone - a picture of Mia and Bryson on a plane, sitting close together, as if they would kiss anytime soon. There was a caption on it that read: "On a business trip to Australia with my CEO. Feeling cute."
Dylan was so furious that he threw the phone on the ground, and it almost broke into pieces. Kyle was stunned as he hurriedly picked up his phone.
"Oh my poor baby, Dylan, don't vent your anger on my phone. I don't have money for a new phone now," Kyle said, licking the empty plate in front of him.
Dylan clenched his fists in anger and gritted his teeth. "When was that?"
"She posted it on her IG a day ago," Kyle replied. Dylan punched the air in anger.
"That fool, so she left me for him, huh?"
"Who wouldn't? If I were Mia, I wouldn't hesitate to be his girlfriend. He's freaking rich and has the looks; what a hot boy!" Kyle said, laughing out loudly, while Dylan glared at him. He stood up and started dressing up.
"Where are you going to?" Kyle asked him.
"To Australia, of course," he replied, and Kyle looked at him as if he had just grown two horns on his head before letting out a loud guffaw.
"Dylan, always think with your brain; that's why you have one. Stop walking around with an empty head. Do you think going to Australia will solve the puzzle of your life? What would you say you went to do in Australia? To see an ex-girlfriend and cause a ruckus there? That's absolute bullshit, Dylan," Kyle yelled, and Dylan stood still, speechless.
