my stupid, stupid mind decided to deprive me of sleep again. of course. i laid in silence as i listened to hyunjin's soft snores as my eyes darted around the room, just looking for something to help me fall asleep.

i carefully slipped out of hyunjin's grip and tiptoed out of the room, shutting the door quietly behind me. i looked around, unsurprisingly finding chan hyung's light on. i looked at the clock in the corridor. 2am. huh.

i knocked on the door softly and got a soft 'come in' in reply before i pushed the door open slightly, willing my eyes to adjust to the brightness.

i could see the half-closed computer lying on his desk, a habit he had picked up on when minho hyung had lectured him about staying up late.

"hi felix. you feeling any better?" chan hyung smiled as he talked in english, knowing that korean didn't register well in my mind when i was tired.

"yeah. i can't sleep, though. can i stay here for a while? i promised jinnie i'd sleep with him tonight so i'll go back later." i mumbled, rubbing my eyes in exhaustion.

"sure. wanna listen to a new track i made?" chan hyung held out an earpiece and gestured for me to put it in my ear.

i put on the headphones and closed my eyes, letting the soothing beat and the upbeat but melodic sound of guitar guide me along the tempo. a smile found it's way onto my face as the music crescendos and, with a final flourish, ends.

"how is it?" chan questioned, clicking away on his laptop.

"you know how i feel about your music. it's always amazing."

"not always. but thanks." i scoff at that. not always my ass.

"i should probably head back to bed," i put the earpiece on the desktop, "don't want to wake hyunjin up."

"goodnight, felix. sweet dreams." chan hyung whispered, a kind smile on his face.

"thanks, hyung. you too." i closed the door behind me and quietly shuffled back to my room.

i slipped soundlessly back into hyunjin's embrace and admired his peaceful appearance.

his face was dimly lit by the moonlight streaming in from my window, allowing me to see his closed eyes, long lashes and plump lips. his defined jawline looked even more dramatic at the slight shadow the moonlight casted and his hair fell messily on the pillow. he just seemed so...perfect.

i sighed quietly and allowed my eyes to trace the outline of his face, jealously slowly creeping into my heart.

why can't i look like him?

maybe if you just lost a little weight, you wouldn't be as ugly.

rolling over to face the window, i pressed my back against hyunjin's chest, craving some sort of comfort. before i knew it, my eyelids finally shut and i drifted off into restless sleep.

"felix, it's time to wake up." hyunjin's raspy morning voice awoke me.

"no," i whined, taking note of the familiar warmth and weight that encased me waist, "five more minutes. please?"

"alright." he chuckled, hugging me tighter.

i closed my eyes once more, relaxing under the sudden hand that threaded through my hair, combing out the knots without force.

he's probably disgusted by you.

well that certainly woke me up.

why do you think that he was the one to wake you up?
