Mobius was pacing back and forth in he and Loki's bedroom anxiously awaiting her return. A million scenarios flooded his mind, each one worse than the last. For fuck's sake, why did she leave?! Why would she do that, especially when she knew that she was with child? Yes, she may be half Jotun, but that doesn't mean she can withstand mortal wounds! And who knows what Malekith will be capable of with the Æther?

"Mobius!" A voice pulled him from his panicked thoughts, it was Lady Sif. She was holding Loki's helmet, it was splattered in blood. "Infirmary. Come with me."

"What happened? Is she okay? Is that her blood?" Mobius asked, breathing heavily as the absolute terror set in. Sif grabbed Mobius and practically dragged him with her, talking as they made there way to the infirmary.

"She's stable. It was a substantial wound though. The healers are taking care of it." Sif explained.

"Loki's pregnant." Mobius said, and Sif was in shock. "Is the baby okay? Is Loki okay?"

"Loki is... with child?" Sif asked, at a loss for words. "That's physically impossible, if what I learned in school was at all correct?"

"Well, you know how Loki has a female form?" Mobius said awkwardly, and Sif nodded. "Well, apparently that spell changes the insides too."

"That's already way too much information." Sif says as they finally arrived at the infirmary, Mobius immediately rushing to Loki's bedside. The goddess looked tired and dirty, but otherwise in good spirits. She was in her tunic, which was now ripped at the site of a small gash in her skin, about five inches deep at least.

"You scared the shit out of me, baby." Mobius breathed out, clasping Loki's hand in his. She was laying on an exam table, a shimmering gold light above her scanning her form for any injuries. Mobius recognized it as the one used on Jane Foster on the sacred timeline.

"Everything looks good, my lady." The healer said as she finished stitching his wound. "And congratulations are in order, it seems. Does the allfather know he's going to have a grandchild soon?"

"Um...no, not yet." Loki says softly, and Mobius immediately sensed his fear. Odin had taken children away from him before, who's to say it wouldn't happen again just because Loki was finally married?

"If you're cleared to leave, maybe we should get you to your room." Mobius suggests.

The healer cleared Loki to leave the infirmary, and so the couple made their way up to their bedroom, the goddess immediately phasing into a nightgown and curling up in her bed. Mobius changed into his own sleep clothes and joined Loki in bed, relieved that his wife was okay, that their child was okay. It's okay.

"I almost lost you today." Mobius whispered, his hand resting over Loki's belly.

"But you didn't. I'm right here." Loki replied, brushing the hair out of Mobius' face. "We're both here, and we're both safe. I'll always be right here, my love."

"I just...I was so scared, Loki." Mobius stuttered. "I've never loved anyone as much as I love you. It feels impossible to love anyone this much, and yet I do. And it's terrifying but I wouldn't have it any other way."

"Neither would I." Loki murmured, pressing a gentle kiss to Mobius' lips. "Rest, my darling. You need it. I promise, I'll be here when you wake."

"You better be." Mobius sighed sleepily, beginning to doze off.

-nine months later-

Loki laid in bed, holding her newborn daughter Freyja in her arms. It had been a tumultuous and difficult nine months, with the TVA having located Mobius and then the analyst having to literally fight for his freedom to be with Loki and their child, but finally they both had their peaceful life back, and now, as Mobius sits beside her pressing soft kisses to her cheek and gazing in awe at their baby, they were determined to keep it.

For all time, always...
