##### Chapter 30 First Date
Faye was leaning against the door of Yoko's house as she waited for her. She suddenly frowned when she saw Yoko wearing skirt. Yoko's long legs was exposed, seemed perfectly attractive. Naaakit na pinagmamasdan ito ni Faye, kaya naman nakailang lunok s'ya ng laway dahil dito.
" Bagay ba sa 'kin ang suot ko, Kamahalan? " Yoko spun around, her bright smile flashing across her face as she teased Faye for wearing a short skirt.
" How many times have I told you not to wear something like that. "
" Bakit? Bagay naman, hindi ba? "
" Bagay nga, kaya lang masyadong maikli. "
" Hayaan mo na Kamahalan, mas bagay pa rin naman tayong dalawa eh, " nakangiting sambit ni Yoko. Lumapit s'ya kay Faye at hinila na n'ya ito palabas.
" Halika na Kamahalan, excited na 'ko kung saan mo ako ide-date. "
Faye just shook her head as she followed Yoko with a smile.
While Faye was driving, she couldn't stop taking a deep breath because she was getting rid of her thoughts from earlier when she talked to Yoko's Mom. That's why she asked Yoko out because she was thinking that she needs to eat and indulge in a chocolate cake now.
Because sweet food especially chocolate cake gives Faye a temporary escape to a respite from the anxiety that is running through her mind. Add to that, the fact that Yoko is with her now, which makes her feel better.
Back then, Faye didn't really care about the people around her, because her whole life revolved around what Great Father ordered. But when she met the mischievous and talkative Yoko, the Hamster, the Penguin, the Stuart Little, the Bubwit who messed up her quiet life, her world changed.
And now, why would Faye do anything just to protect Yoko even if it means her life.
" Is this what they say that when you love, you are ready to sacrifice everything for the person you love, " Faye's thought.
" Kamahalan, san ba tayo pupunta? " tanong ni Yoko, kaya naman nawala ang malalim na pag-iisip ni Faye sa kawalan. Tumingin s'ya kay Yoko at ngumiti nang bahagya.
" To that sweet shop on Main Street, " sabi ni Faye na sinusubukang maging masigla ang boses n'ya. Nakita n'ya kasi kung paano lumiwanag ang mukha ni Yoko sa pagbanggit n'yang dessert.
" Talaga? Ang galing, gusto ko pa naman ngayon kumain ng mga matatamis lalo na mga chocolates, " Yoko's excitement was infectious, and despite her internal turmoil, Faye felt a flicker of joy at Yoko's enthusiasm.
Habang naglalakad sina Faye at Yoko papunta sa isang sweet shop. Kitang-kita ni Faye ang mga ulong lumingon at tumitingin sa legs ni Yoko dahil sa suot nito, kaya naman pilit tinatakpan ni Faye ang legs n'ya. Ngunit, hindi pa rin natatanggal ang mga tingin na sumusunod sa bawat hakbang ni Yoko.
" Kamahalan, bakit ang tahimik mo yata? " Yoko's voice broke through Faye's thoughts.
" Bakit parang balisa ka? May gumugulo ba sa isip mo? "
" May iniisip lang ako, tapos dumagdag pa 'yang suot mo, " Faye replied, averting her eyes. She hoped she wouldn't have to explain that she felt like she was fighting an inner battle, an unwanted sense of jealousy tangled up in admiration.
" Ano ba kasing inisiip mo, Kamahalan? " Yoko pressed Faye's cheek to annoy her while smiling.
Faye felt her heart race; Yoko's closeness was like a magnet, pulling her in while simultaneously pushing her away.
" Wala lang 'to, huwag mo na kong intindihin. Halika, pumasok na tayo sa loob, " sambit ni Faye, pagkatapos ay bahagya s'yang ngumiti. Ngunit alam ni Yoko na may mabigat at malalim na inisiip si Faye.
