##### Chapter 9 Mission To Kill The Barangay Captain
***Kapitan Mendoza's Birthday Party***
The moon hung high in the twilight sky, its luminescence shimmering through the scattered clouds. A soft breeze whispered through the dimly light street, carrying the muffled sounds of laughter, music, and conversation that emanated from the barangay court, where Captain Mendoza's birthday party was held. Colorful streamers danced in the wind, and the festive decorations adorned the tent. Creating an atmosphere bright enough to mask the darkness creeping in from the shadows.
" Okay na ba ang lahat? Baka may kulang pa sa mga putahe na inihain n'yo huh, " anas ni Orm kay Shanne.
" Okay na, nailabas ko nang lahat, " sagot ni Shanne.
" Julie, 'yong mga decorations natin naayos na bang lahat? "
" Natapos ko nang lahat, " sagot ni Julie.
" Devine, halika rito. "
" Maka Devine naman 'to eh, tingnan mo nga porma ko, tapos tatawagin mo akong Devine. "
For those who don't know, Devine is a tomboy which is why she gets annoyed when Orm calls her by her full name. But Orm was very happy every time Devine was annoyed, kaya naman pinauulit-ulit pa n'ya ang pang-aasar dito.
" Mag-serve ka ng mga pagkain sa mga bisita, hindi 'yong pagala-gala ka riyan. Nagha-hunting ka na naman d'yan ng babaeng mabibiktima mo eh. Trabaho muna, bago landi. "
" Ikaw kamo napakasama ng ugali mo. "
" Mahal n'yo naman. "
" Kaya malakas loob mo eh. "
" Dalian mo na, ang dami mo pang sinasabi, " nakangiting sambit ni Orm.
" By the way, tawagan mo pala si Kate. Sabihin mo isara n'ya na 'yong Pansiteria. Huwag na tayo hintayin na makauwi, magpahinga na kamo s'ya. "
Naiwan kasi si Kate sa Pansiteria para magbantay do'n, sayang din kasi ang kikitain nila kung maagang magsasara.
" Okay sige, tawagan ko na si Kate, " anas ni Vine, pagkatapos ay kinuha na ang cellphone n'ya at tinawagan si Kate.

Bubblegum, Midnight, and Chocolate were sitting inside a faded black van that was inconspicuously parked behind the barangay hall. They were just waiting for Dark's go signal while she was busy typing on her computer that was set-up inside the van.
They wear masks to disguise themselves and hide them from the prying eyes of the barangay guards stationed at every corner. Also, precisely because the theme of the party is masquerade so they can freely enter inside. They are just waiting for Dark's signal to start their mission to kill the Captain.
Like before, Bubblegum wore a pink wig in her hair while chewing her bubblegum. She only wore a half mask on her face. Chocolate and Midnight also wore the same but they no longer have wigs, only Bubblegum those who like to wear something whenever they have a mission.
Chocolate peeked out the window of the van and saw the laughter of the people while going inside the barangay court and hearing the loud music inside.
They received their mission just a few days ago. The mission is to kill Captain Mendoza during his birthday celebration, while the whole barangay is invited.
Minabuti nang pumasok nina Chocolate sa loob ng court ng barangay para magmanman, naiwan si Dark sa van para i-guide sila.
" Dark, what's the status? " Bubblegum whispered into the device clipped to her ear.
