" Love, hindi pa ba luto ang pagkain, nagugutom na ako, " Ling said while waiting for Orm to serve food.
" Love ka d'yan, bakit sinagot na ba kita para tawagin mo akong Love? "
" Bakit? Girlfriend na kita, hindi ba? "
" Tatapusin ko lang 'yong niluluto ko saglit. "
" Ang daya naman nito. "
The hot midday sun was streaming through Orm's open kitchen window. Ling smelled the fragrant smell of garlic and sautéed vegetables that Orm was cooking, which made her even hungrier.
Ling took her cellphone and scrolled busily, she laughed softly at something that caught her eyes. Orm glanced at her because of this.
" Anong nakakatawa? " Orm asked, feigning casual curiosity and smiling in her direction.
Ling looked up, her laughter fading into a warm grin.
" Faye's latest post. She's so keep on making Yoko jealous that she took a picture with a bouquet of flowers from Lux. It's all a bit much, don't you think? "
Orm chuckled.
" Mukhang nangangamoy away na naman 'to panigurado. "
They shared a knowing look, both aware that Faye's obvious affection for Yoko had turned into a subtle yet competitive game of attraction, a game Ling planned.
" Yes, but you know how love works. Tension increases, and people suddenly care more about their social media image than their actual feelings, " Ling waved her phone in the air dramatically.

" Oo, at sure ako na nakita na rin ni Faye kaya nga bigla s'yang nag-post ng bulaklak na binigay sa kanya ni Lux. Sagutin mo na ang tanong ko. Sa tingin mo ba may pag-asa si Travis kay Yoko? "
Orm raised an eyebrow.
" Ginagamit lang ni Yoko si Travis para pagselosin si Faye. "
" Sino kaya ang susuko sa kanilang dalawa, para silang mga bata na pinaglalaruan ang mga damdamin nila. "
" Eh sino ba kasi ang nakaisip ng kalokohan na 'to? " sambit ni Orm pero tawa lang ang isinagot ni Ling.
Ling, sensing her hesitation, playfully nudged her.
" What's with that face? Ah, I see, you secretly approve of Yoko's taste. "
Orm laughed but could only shake her head.
" Hindi ah, pareho kaya kami ng taste ni Yoko. Natutuwa lang ako kung paanong maaaring umikot ang mga relasyon sa isang segundo at magbago ng direksyon nang walang nakakaalam kung paano o bakit. "
Ling admitted, her smile faltering for just a moment.
" You and I... Maybe we're not that different. Our labels, a mystery too. "
Orm's heart raced at the implication. While they hadn't officially defined their relationship, she couldn't help but feel entangled in Ling's presence. Her laughter, her quiet moments of introspection, and now, the way she looked at her.
Tinitigan ni Orm nang seryoso si Ling, nag-iisip kung paano n'ya sasabihin na pareho lang sila ng nararamdaman para sa isa't-isa.
" Ling, " she insisted again, more determined this time.
" Sa tingin ko, kailangan nating linawin kung ano ang nangyayari sa pagitan natin. "
Ling paused, her laughter fading into a thoughtful expression as she set her phone aside.
" Seryoso ako sa 'yo Orm, mahal kita, " Ling said while biting her lips. Her voice barely above a whisper, though firmly planted in conviction.
