I'll rewrite my every mistake,

Turn the bad into the good I seek,

Won't let it all slip away somehow,

Because in the end, it's you I keep.

In the early morning light, Taehyung stands in the kitchen, his expression calm and focused as he works on preparing breakfast. His hands move with practiced ease, whisking the coffee just right, the foam rising perfectly to the top. He adds a dash of milk and a small pinch of sugar, just the way he remembers Jungkook likes it. Next, he carefully toasts bread, spreading butter, and assembling a simple yet elegant sandwich. A quiet smile tugs at his lips as he surveys the table—everything neat and representable, laid out as if to impress.

His eyes flick to Jungkook's bedroom door, knowing that any moment now, Jungkook will come out, likely dressed for another busy day. Taehyung takes off his apron, rolls down the sleeves of his crisp suit, and straightens his collar, making sure he looks composed and nonchalant. He wants everything to appear casual, even though there's a deeper intent behind his actions.

Just as he predicted, Jungkook soon emerges from his room, dressed in a flannel shirt and jeans, looking ready for the day. He moves toward the kitchen, but his steps falter when he notices the dining table. His brow furrows slightly in confusion as he looks at the spread of food. Taehyung, sitting at the table, glances up with a casual smile.

"I woke up early," Taehyung says, as though it's no big deal. "Just made some breakfast. Miss Lee is still on her week off."

Jungkook glances toward the table again, then back at the kitchen, clearly debating whether to acknowledge this. He moves to the counter to make his usual coffee, but Taehyung's voice interrupts him.

"I already made it for you," Taehyung says smoothly.

Jungkook frowns, turning slightly. "Why?"

With a shrug, Taehyung replies, "Didn't want you to mix up salt and sugar again."

Jungkook huffs, recalling the incident with mild embarrassment. "That was because I wasn't fully awake," he grumbles.

Taehyung simply smirks but doesn't argue. Jungkook, not wanting to make a big deal of it, grabs the coffee and sits across from Taehyung at the table. He takes a sip, his brow raising slightly in surprise at how good it is, but he says nothing.

Taehyung, noticing the small approval, slides a sandwich toward him. "I made extra," he says, then points to the coffee. "And from now on, I'll take charge of the coffee. Don't want to waste anything, right?"

Jungkook scoffs lightly, shaking his head. "No thanks. I'm not that careless."

Taehyung shrugs as though it's a simple fact. "Still, can't take any risks. Besides, I wake up before you anyway."

The words linger between them, their deeper meaning unspoken. It isn't just about coffee—it's about Taehyung trying to reclaim something he lost, trying to fix the small things he once took for granted. There was a time when he made coffee for Jungkook every morning without a second thought. He wonders how much of that Jungkook remembers, or if he's deliberately choosing not to.
