I'm sorry I took so long to see,

Sorry for the wounds I carved so deep.

I regret the pain I caused to you,

But can I still hope you'll come back to me?

The early morning sun barely lit up the apartment as Taehyung walked through the door, his briefcase in hand. He had managed to finish his work in New York earlier than expected and was eager to get back home. The anticipation of finally spending some quality time with Jungkook filled him with a sense of relief and excitement.

Taehyung headed straight for their bedroom, expecting to find Jungkook sleeping soundly. But as he pushed open the door, the sight of an empty room jolted him. Confused, he checked the bathroom and other rooms, but there was no sign of Jungkook. His heart began to race. It was early, and Jungkook wouldn't have gone out at this hour without telling him.

He pulled out his phone and dialed Jungkook's number, only to be greeted by the voicemail. Panic set in as he called again, with no answer. Frustrated and worried, he decided to call Jimin, who took a few rings to pick up.

Jimin's voice was curt and slightly hostile. "What do you want, Taehyung?"

Taehyung's concern grew sharper. "Jimin, do you know where Jungkook is? He's not at home, and his phone is off."

Jimin let out a huff. "Shouldn't you know that? Aren't you his boyfriend?"

Taehyung's eyebrows furrowed. He could sense the taunt in Jimin's voice. "Jimin?"

Jimin sighed, his voice tinged with frustration. "I can't believe you still haven't figured it out. What's today's date?"

Taehyung glanced at his phone, confused, and then his eyes widened in realization. "Shit... it's the 23rd. Yesterday was our anniversary."

Panic surged through him. "Oh shit, Jimin... how could I forget it again? Damn it. God knows where Jungkook is."

Jimin's tone was resigned. "You don't have to worry about that anymore."

Taehyung's heart sank. "What do you mean?"

Jimin's voice was firm but sympathetic. "Jungkook is with me now. He's going to be here until he decides otherwise."

Taehyung's head spun. His hands trembled as he turned back to their bedroom. He rushed to the closet, flinging the doors open. His worst fears were confirmed—Jungkook's belongings were gone. The emptiness of the closet mirrored the hollowness he felt inside.

"No... no, this can't be happening," Taehyung mumbled, his voice shaking. "Jimin, let me talk to Jungkook. Please, just let me talk to him."

Jimin's response was final. "He doesn't want to talk right now. It's better this way. Just give him time and understand what you've done."
