Rory~
I stood in front of the mirror, my wet hair dripping down my back as I debated over what to wear. It was going to be a fun day today—no more drama, no more heart-stopping rescues. Just me and JJ, acting like total dorks and forgetting about everything else. I needed the perfect outfit. Something cute, but not trying too hard.
And I needed to figure it out quickly, before JJ returned from his shower, or else I doubt we'd leave this room to get to our much awaited date.
I finally settled on the short red floral sundress. It was light, playful, and paired well with my old leather jacket. And of course, my black combat boots because...well, because JJ and I practically had a tradition of matching our boots. He'd think it was cute, and I loved seeing him in his, all rugged and confident.
As I finished, I draped a few silver chains around my neck, the heart pendant JJ gave me resting right where it always did—close to my own heart. My bracelets clinked softly as I moved around. I caught my reflection in the mirror. I looked good. I mean, not to brag, but I was pulling off that effortlessly badass girlfriend vibe today.
