Rory~
WHEN JJ and I got back from our wild, adventurous date, the whole gang was gathered in the backyard, beers in hand, laughter filling the air. Even Jackson had made his grand return. Naturally, we couldn't resist joining the chaos.
The evening turned into one of those nights where we all just let loose. Beers were flowing, jokes were flying, and somehow Jackson and John B ended up wrestling like JJ and Pope had done all those weeks ago. It felt like a throwback to all the times we'd goofed around, pushing limits just for the thrill of it.
Kie had snuggled up to me in the hammock, and we chatted non-stop, like two kids at a sleepover, while JJ and Carter chugged beers like it was some sort of competition.
Suddenly, someone—honestly, who knows who—suggested we play truth or dare. Classic. The boys pulled their lawn chairs closer to Kie and me, still lounging in our hammock, forming a messy circle. The game started off innocent, but quickly dissolved into everyone roasting each other about the dumbest stuff we'd done in the past.
And of course, the spotlight turned to JJ and me. JJ had this goofy grin on his face as he announced, "I remember Rory and I doing a lot of dumb stuff." His voice was light, the kind of fondness only reserved for chaos.
I couldn't help but giggle. "Yeah, we did." I passed the blunt Kie handed me, laughing along. "It's so much fun." The understatement of the century.
Carter jumped in, teasing JJ like he always did. "I witnessed the dumb stuff happening."
Kie piped up, wearing the proudest smile. "Hey, I recorded most of it!" Her grin stretched wide, like she'd just won an award for the Best Friend Who Documents Chaos.
John B, with a playful glare, shook his head at us. "I joined them in doing the dumb stuff, for the record. These two always rope us in with their crazy ideas," he said, laying the sarcasm on thick.
Jackson, who had missed most of our ridiculous escapades, chuckled. "I wish I'd seen it happen."
Pope, ever the responsible one, threw his hands up dramatically. "And y'all wanna know what I did? I tried to stop you idiots from doing the dumb stuff!" His tone was so serious that we all burst out laughing. Classic Pope, the voice of reason in a group of chaos enthusiasts.
As the night wore on, more beers disappeared, and the hammock now cradled Kie and Carter, who looked entirely too cozy. Kie, sleepy and worn out, curled up against him, and I couldn't help but smile at how cute they were.
