Third Person Perspective~
THE speaker crackled to life, the voice echoing across the ship with a commanding urgency.
"Attention, all passengers and crew, report to the tween forward hull."
The words rang out, sharp and clear, and Rory's breath hitched. A wide, excited smile lit up her face as the announcement repeated.
"That's an order. Repeat. All hands and all passengers report to the tween forward hull, immediately."
By the window, John B and JJ froze, pressing their ears against the wall as if the vibrations would confirm the impossible. When the gravity of the situation sunk in, their faces broke into identical grins, wide and toothy. John B turned to Kie and Rory, his expression one of disbelief and elation.
"They did it," he breathed, his voice a mix of awe and relief. "They took the bridge."
JJ smirked, throwing a cocky high-five Rory's way. "That's our boy," he added, pride lacing his words as if he had been the mastermind behind the whole operation, which honestly speaking, he was.
Kie straightened, her sharp eyes darting around the room as she gestured toward the window. "That's our signal. C'mon," she urged, already taking charge as the group prepared to make their move.
The boys didn't need telling twice.
With a practiced ease, JJ popped open the gap in the wall and slid out headfirst, his blond hair catching the faint sunlight outside. He scanned the surroundings with hawk-like precision, his cautious demeanor almost at odds with his usual recklessness. Satisfied that the coast was clear, he gestured for John B to follow.
John B, having perfected this manoeuvre after several attempts earlier in the day, slid through with a fluidity born of experience. His lean frame disappeared through the gap, his feet kicking the air momentarily before he landed outside.
Kie placed a reassuring hand on Rory's arm, squeezing gently. "You're up," she said with a nod, her voice steady despite the nerves Rory could see in her dark eyes.
