_____________________________After Naruto, Sasuke, and Satoru finally made it to the top of their respective trees and made it back to Tazuna's house, they ate dinner and slept in the guest room of the home.
Satoru laid on his futon, staring at the ceiling of the guest room. He was exhausted from the continuous training that day, but for some reason, the boy could not manage to go to sleep.
After hours of just staring at the ceiling, Satoru decided to take a walk outside. He carefully made his way out of Tazuna's home, taking extra precautions to not wake anyone up.
As the Tsukinaga boy walked outside, he looked up at the full moon. It lit up the dark night almost better than the sun could. The sky was so clear you could see every star. It looked as if a large hand sprinkled the dust of a diamond into the dark abyss, lighting it up just for him to see.
Satoru walked the path into the forest where Team 7's training took place over the last couple of days. Even after he worked so hard, he still could not awaken his Miraigan. He often wondered what the point of him becoming a Shinobi was. It was clear to him that he was never going to become strong enough to kill his father, so what was the point of trying?
A few drops of water landed on Satoru's head as he neared the familiar clearing in the forest. He held his hands out, letting the rain pool in between his fingers. He looked up at the moon once more, his hair starting to be weighed down by the excess amount of water.
"Hey! What are you doing out here?! You're gonna catch a cold."
Satoru turned his head ever so slightly to the side, seeing a familiar face walking towards him. "Couldn't sleep. Why are you out here, Sasuke?"
Sasuke started to walk up to the Tsukinaga boy. Taking in the unfamiliar sight of Satoru's hair not being fluffy and wild.
"I noticed you were gone, so I came looking for you to make sure you didn't come out here to die like some loser." Sasuke answered.
"Thank you..?" The Tsukinaga boy said, unsure of how to take the statement.
Sasuke stood beside the other boy, deciding to stare at the night sky with him.
"So, does that mean you don't think i'm a loser right now?"
Sasuke decided not to answer. Instead, he listened to the sounds of the dark forest. The humming of insects, whistling of the wind, plops and splatters of raindrops, rustling of leaves, the deep croaks of frogs.
"I have a question. Back when I first met you, when Kakashi-Sensei made us introduce ourselves, you spoke of a man you wanted to kill. Who is he?"
Sasuke clenched his fists at the mention of his brother. The peace he felt moments ago was replaced by an indescribable hatred. "My brother.... Uchiha Itachi."
Satoru continued to stare at the night sky, not letting his immense shock show on his face. "Your brother, why?"
Sasuke's stomach started to burn and his throat started to tighten at the memories that resurfaced once again. His blood coming to a slow boil as raindrops landed on his cheeks. "The Uchiha Clan massacre... Itachi is the one who killed them all. Our own mother and father, killed by his very hands. Our entire clan's blood stains his soul, all but mine. That night, for some reason I cannot comprehend, he left me alive, only me. The words he said to me that night haunt my every waking moment. 'If you want to kill me, despise me, hate me, and live a lonesome life.' I want to become stronger so that I can kill that man. I have to become stronger..."
"Sasuke... You and I, we are a lot alike."
The Uchiha boy whipped his head around to look at Satoru, his eyes filled with rage as he pushed the boy to the wet ground. "Don't you dare say that we're alike! You will never understand my pain! You'll never know what it's like!"
Satoru looked up at Sasuke from the ground. His red eyes held no hatred at he looked into the pitch black abyss that was Sasuke's eyes. "My father... Tsukinaga Masaki, slaughtered my entire clan on the night of one our most sacred holidays. He slit open the stomach of my elder brother, Akimitsu, as he tried to protect me from him. I ran out to the streets of our village to see the people I saw everyday in pools of their own blood on the ground. Members of your clan, the Uchiha were my saviors. If they hadn't come, my father would have killed me too. It's my duty to get powerful enough to destroy my father, to avenge my brother, to avenge my clan."
Sasuke stumbled backwards slightly at the information. He knew the Tsukinaga Clan had been massacred and that Satoru was the lone survivor, but he didn't know just how similar their situation was, how similar their pain was.
Satoru stood up from the wet ground, walking towards the other boy, stopping right in front of him. Satoru put his hand on Sasuke's shoulder, looking right into his raven eyes. "Let's get stronger together. Let's achieve our dreams, together."
Sasuke looked into Satoru's piercing red eyes, seeing only a friend. "Yeah."

Author's notesThis chapter is super short because I just wanted to further Sasuke and Satoru's friendship before the final Zabuza battle which is the next chapter or two.
I'm really hoping the characters are all pretty cannon. I've been trying really hard not to alter their personalities too much especially Sasuke's! Let me know if they seem to fanon
