Satoru walked down the streets of Konoha. His demeanor was calm and collected, but on the inside? His heart was beating out of his chest. His mind was consumed with the Final Chunin Exam. This was his chance to prove his strength. He didn't care what others thought of him. Satoru needed to prove his strength to himself.
Coming up on the arena that would hold the Final Exam, Satoru could hear the loud screams and cheers of the spectators. This just made Satoru's heart beat faster. He could only hope that Naruto and Sasuke had already arrived to calm his nerves.
Walking into the middle of the massive arena, the Tsukinaga saw six of the other finalists, plus the exam proctor. Naruto and Sasuke were nowhere to be seen.
Taking his spot beside the other Genin, Satoru found himself lost in thought as they waited for the others to show up.
After some time, Naruto suddenly slid face first into the arena at a high speed, landing right in front of Satoru's feet.
"What the hell, Naruto?! You're late!" Satoru shouted, grabbing the boy by the back of his shirt and hoisting him to his feet.
"Guys, guys, guys! You won't believe this, but there's a huge stampede of bulls heading this direction right now! We have to run!" Naruto screamed.
"Yeah, you're right, I don't believe you". Shikamaru said, noticing that the entrance of the arena was totally clear.
"Hey, knock it off. Stand up straight and present yourselves proudly to the spectators." The exam proctor said.
This made Satoru really take a look around the place. The stands of the arena were fully packed. All the civilians and Shinobi in the crowd cheered at the top of their lungs, all for the nine Genin.
"Welcome all! Thank you for coming to the Village Hidden in the Leaves for this Chunin Exam! We now proudly present the nine candidates who made it through the preliminaries for these battles. We ask you all to please watch until the end!" The Hokage's loud voice boomed out.
"Okay. Take a look at this." The proctor in front of the nine Genin said, holding up a sheet of paper with all the first round match ups.
"Hey! Hey! i was just um... wondering what will happen to Sasuke if he doesn't show up?" Naruto asked.
Satoru had to admit, somewhere inside him he was asking the same question, but still, he decided to put his full faith in Sasuke. He would definitely show up.
