Satoru walked down the streets of Konoha as he heart weighed heavy on the goodbye he had to say in just a few minutes.
It had taken a full month for Naruto and Satoru to fully recover from their injuries, which meant that Naruto was going to leave. For three entire years, Naruto would be off doing special training with Jiraya while Satoru would stay in the Leaf Village, alone.
"Satoru!"
Actually, maybe the Tsukinaga wouldn't be alone. "Hey, Sakura." Satoru said as the pink haired girl ran up to him.
"So... how are you feeling about Naruto leaving?" She asked.
Satoru sighed, he knew the question was coming, but he still had to take a moment to come up with a response. "I'm happy. It's not the same as when Sasuke left the village. Naruto is leaving to get stronger to help Konoha. To bring Sasuke back. I just have to make sure Naruto doesn't get try and get stronger than me." He said with a small chuckle at the end.
Sakura let out a breath of relief. "That's good. I'm worried about you, Satoru. With the two people you care about most, I wanted to make sure you were okay."
"Shut up." Satoru said with a smile as he gave Sakura's shoulder a gentle shove. "I care about everyone in Team 7, including you and Kakashi-Sensei.
Sakura let out a laugh as she punched Satoru in the ribs, making him double over in pain as he laughed. "Well, I'll see you later."
"You're not gonna say bye to Naruto?"
"I just came back from telling him goodbye. You two should have some time alone, I think." Sakura said, walking away from the Tsukinaga.
Satoru just stood and watched Sakura walk away for a while, until he could no longer see her.
"Satoru!" Naruto screamed as he violently waved his arm in the Tsukinaga's direction.
"Damn he's loud..." Satoru whispered out. He jogged over to Naruto, seeing Jiraya leaning against a pillar connected to the large gate. When he arrived over to Naruto, he was suddenly at a loss on what to say. He just stood still for a moment, not uttering a word, looking at the ground.
Naruto picked up on the boys uneasiness and pulled something from under his headband, holding it towards the other.
"What is this?" Satoru asked as he grabbed the small piece of paper being handed to him.
"It's a coupon to Ichiraku's Ramen. You get one free bowl of your choice! Since I'm not gonna be here to use it, I thought you could have it." Naruto said with a sheepish smile.
"Wow... Uzumaki Naruto... giving away a coupon for a free bowl of ramen? I dunno if I believe it..." Satoru said, mockingly.
"Stupid Satoru! Do ya' want it or not?!" Naruto shouted.
"Yeah, yeah. Thank you."
"Mhm. That's what I thought."
"When you get back, we're going to have that fight. The one we said we'd have during the Chunin Exams. I don't wanna come back and realize that I'm way stronger than you! I want a real fight! Got it?" Satoru said.
"Got it. I'll be back and stronger than ever."
"Hey! Come on, Naruto! We gotta be in that town before dark so I can start my research!" Jiraya yelled.
"Hold on, Pervy Sage!" Naruto yelled back. "See ya', Satoru. We'll bring Sasuke back, yeah?"
"Yeah... see ya'." Satoru said. He watched as Naruto ran over to Jiraya, the two of them sending Konoha one last wave before walking in the other direction.
'Three years. I have three years to get stronger than Naruto... and Sasuke.'
