Kakashi and Satoru arrived back in the village a week early on December 21, Satoru's birthday.
After a long, absolutely needed, nap in his bed, the Tsukinaga went searching for Koari. He walked through the cold streets of Konoha, ignoring all of the mean and scared looks he was getting from people.
"Satoru!"
"Koari! I created my own Jutsu!" Satoru shouted as he watched Koari run towards him.
"Tell me about it in a little! Come with me." The Jōnin yelled, beckoning the Tsukinaga to follow him with a wave.
"Ughhhh... what?" Satoru groaned out as he followed after the man.

The two eventually arrived outside of Hokage's office after a while of running. "What are we doing here? There's no way i'm getting a mission on my birthday..."
"Well, hate to be the bearer of bad news but-"
"Koari?! Is that you?! Get your ass in here!" Tsunade yelled.
"Yes, Lady Tsunade!" Koari said, grabbing Satoru's arm and rushing into the Hokage's office.
"What is happening?!" Satoru asked.
"Well, I have a special S-Rank mission for you two. Honestly, I hate to only send two people on such a mission, and you, Satoru, being just a Chunin and having a connection to the location of the mission, this isn't ideal in the slightest." Tsunade said, a sigh escaping her lips as she rubbed her forehead.
"What do you mean by me having a connection to the place of the mission? What is it? Where are we going?" Satoru asked looking between Tsunade and Koari.
Koari just struggled his shoulders. "I was summoned here and asked to bring you. I don't know what's going on either."
"I'll explain everything. This is a special mission to the Land of the Woods, more specifically, the Hidden Forest Village." She started to explain.
"What?! Is it my father?! Has he reclaimed the Village?!" Satoru asked frantically.
"Let her finish, Satoru." Koari said, his voice and expression serious.
