Listen to: Cool for the summer- Demi lovato
Chapter Eleven.
I sat in the passenger seat of Sage's blacked out 2024, Mustang. The exhaust is so loud I can barely even hear myself think. I'm not surprised though, every rich, good looking asshole usually has a loud and fast car too match.
The aesthetic.
"Do you like music?" Sage finally broke the silence.
Did he really just ask me that.... "Who doesn't," I shrugged. I watched as he reached his arm out, turning on the radio. His arm covered in tattoos, but not enough to hide his veins and tan skin. My eyes trailed down his arm to his hand, watching as he turned the dial. His veins so visible, his fingers long and skinny.I bet those hands can do magic.
Peyton. No. Stop.
I looked up once I heard him start singing to an old Demi Lovato song that was playing.
Got my mind on your body
And your body on my mind
Got a taste for the cherry
I just need to take a bite....I couldn't help but laugh and shake my head at him. "Do you know who sings this?" He glanced over at me. "That Disney chick from camp rock?" He answered. I nodded, "yes, and you should let her sing it." His face was priceless and I couldn't help but burst out laughing.

We started walking down the beach, both of us carrying shoes. It was perfect weather today. "Just little further and we'll be away from the public."
Apparently there's a specific spot he likes to go.
I nodded letting him know I heard him.We finally made it and it was beautiful. A few seagulls were hanging out, the waves perfectly crashing, the warm breeze. Peaceful. I forgot how much I loved the beach. Sage pulled out a blanket from his backpack and spread it out over the sand. I hesitated before sitting down, him beside me. He leaned back on his arms, looking out. "It's so relaxing," I said. "Yes it is," he agreed.
"I come out here to relax when I need to get away from school, or my dad." I didn't say a word. He said he wanted me to get to know him, maybe this is an opportunity for him to open up to me.
"Why would you want to get away? Your life seems pretty perfect." He shook his head, disagreeing. "My life is far from perfect." His face softened. "My mom left my dad last year, they're divorced now. My dad's an ass who does nothing but work and remind me that I'm just constantly disappointing him."He dropped his head. WOW. His HONEST feelings.
I've been making dad comments... maybe I'm the asshole."I'm sorry-" he interrupted me, "you just assumed I had the perfect life." His eyes met mine, their normal forest green now almost glowing as the hurt shown through them. He's being vulnerable. I didn't speak, just tuned my attention back to the ocean in front of us.
"Come on, let's swim," he said, standing to his feet. I watched as he pulled his blue t-shirt over his head. His tanned skin, and long torso, complimented by his abs, revealing itself. He's so fit. Yum.
"No way," I shook my head. "Why not?" "I don't have a swimsuit," I protested. He rolled his eyes, "you don't need one."
He walked into the ocean, going waist deep. I watched as he looked at me, shaking his wet hair out of his eyes. The sun was starting to set, the sky was bright orange with hints of yellow. "Come on, new girl! Live a little!"Go ahead Peyton, he's right.
I stood to my feet, walking knee deep into the water. Sage came over to me, a smile on his face. "That's my girl." I rolled my eyes, walking even further in. My denim shorts soaking up the salty water.
A little further. I closed my eye and took a deep breath.
Just have some fun.....
