Something In The Orange

Chapter Eighteen.

"They're so going to cry by the end," I laughed, and Zoey joined me. "I wander who's going to cry the hardest," Maya chimed in. We all three looked at each other and at the exact same time said: "Declan."
Our laughter was so loud and obnoxious, and it was everything I needed. I never had friends back home, so to be here surrounded by these girls made everything so much better.

"What's so funny?" Declan asked joining our little group. "Oh, nothing," I taunted, and he shot me a glare. "Whatever. Are you girls ready?" He changed the subject. We all looked at each other, nodding. "Let's get this movie night started!" Maya chanted, tossing me a bag of skittles and I successfully caught them.

D wrapped his arm around Zoey's shoulders and they walked to the floor, where there were some blankets and pillows scattered out for everyone to lay. Maya jogged over, laying beside of Max. I just stood there. I looked over at everyone laying all cuddled up and then my eyes drifted over to Sage, sitting on the couch all by himself.

We could be on the floor together, if things were different, but they're not, and they can't be.

"P, you ready?" I heard. Sage turned around motioning for me to come sit so that we could start the movie. Maybe he wants me to sit with him. That should be okay.

I walked over, cutting the flash light off, hitting play on the projector and going to sit on the couch beside of Sage. "Hey baby girl," he whispered as I sat down. I blushed. Instantly. Like a little girl. I melted.

Everyone got comfortable on the floor in front of us and we all began to watch the movie.

So it's not gonna be easy. It's going to be really hard; we're gonna have to at this everyday, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you...

"How can she do that to him!" Declan cried out.

Ha. Yep. We were right, he cried first and the hardest.

Big baby.

Max and Maya had fell asleep. Declan was being comforted by Zoey, Aiden and his girl asleep too. Then there was Sage. He stared so blankly at the screen. No emotion whatsoever. Interesting. I've never seen someone have no reaction while watching the notebook. Maybe he's just heartless.

I guess I stared at him a little too long because he noticed and turned his head to look at me. He extended his arm on the back of the couch and motioned for me to scoot closer to him. "He'll see," I mouthed, but he shook his head disagreeing. "Come here," he mouthed back.

I looked at Declan and Zoey on the ground and then back to him, he was waiting patiently for me to move. I took a deep breath before sliding over to him, letting him wrap his arm around me. I sat straight up and stiff, afraid of Declan turning around, ready to move away at any second.

"Relax, babygirl," he whispered, leaning into my ear. I could almost shiver at his cold breath on my neck. About to make a smart ass comment, but he put his hand over my mouth.

That feels familiar.

"Lay back and don't make a sound." My eyes met his and my eyes were definitely wide open, waiting on an explanation. "Lesson number two: being quiet in a public place," he smirked. He leaned back, pulling me in so my back was lying against his chest... he pulled the blanket from the back of the couch over us and then his hand rested on my thigh.

Jesus what's he going to do.

He hand began to rub my leg, slowly sliding up underneath the bottom of my lounge shorts. I could already feel my breathing getting heavier just at his touch. He was just about to keep going when....

"Peyton, we should get back, we have that exam tomorrow," Zoey chimed. Before she could turn around I jumped up, pulling the blanket off of me.

"Yep, you're right." I agreed. She turned around looking at me with a confused look. "You good?" She asked. I nodded, "perfect."
