Chapter three.
"Well, are you going to sit down or stand there and act a fool?"
-
My arm dropped, my eyes narrowed, and just as I was about to make a smart-ass comment, I was bumped into by someone passing by me to go sit in the old, torn leather reclining chair. I realized this person was the one who just questioned my standing here, due to the fact my brother gave him a bro-hug laughing at the comment that was just made.
His hair was dark brown, eyes a dark forest green with hints of brown, a sleeve of tattoos dancing effortlessly up his arm.
The absolute definition of tall, dark, and handsome... which also means, he's an asshole.
But who am I to stereotype.
"Um, hello, Peyton?" I heard, breaking me away from my own thoughts. I shook my head, "Sorry, I was just-" I was interrupted by the same one. "Taking in all the beauty?"
Um, excuse me?
"What?" I furrowed my brows at him, and he let out a laugh. "Peyton, just sit down," My brother instructed sternly. He was obviously worried I was going to embarrass him... He's probably right.
I scanned the seating arrangements, and everyone was on the couch and both chairs occupied, there's no seat for me. Probably because I shouldn't be here in the first place. "Here, you can have my seat," a black-haired girl said, standing to her feet. "I need to go find my friend anyways."
I walked over sitting down, crossing my legs. I feel so awkward. "So," I cleared my throat.
I looked over at my brother who was currently scrolling through his phone, showing Zoey some video he took earlier. "Let's play THE game, who's down?" The handsome one announced. Zoey and Declan instantly looked over, sitting up straight. "Oooh guys, let's go!" I seen a couple of more girls and boys join the circle we were all sitting in.
I swallowed the lump that grew in my throat. Palms sweaty. "What's the game?" Everyone looked around, smirking. "Truth or dare, of course." I locked eyes with those same forest green ones from across the room. Great.
"I'll go first!" Declan chimed, very eager to get this started. "Sage," He started.
Sage??
Those green eyes left mine and drifted over to my brothers.
Oh my god.
"Truth or dare?" he finally asked. "Truth. I'm an honest guy," He shrugged, taking a swig of whatever liquid devil he had in his red cup. "What's your body count?"
WTF.
His lips turned into a devilish grin as he scanned the room, his eyes landing on the blonde in the middle of the floor. "15 as of this morning." The girl's face turned a rosy red and she started whispering with the blonde on her left.
Gross. Guess stereotypes don't lie. Asshole.
"New girl, truth or dare?" My eyes shot over to meet his gaze.
Now, I'm nervous. Either way isn't going to end well for me.
"Dare. I'm an adventurous girl," I mocked his answer. He looked me up and down, my heart racing, anticipating what comes next. "I dare you to do 7 minutes in heaven with Dec-" before he could even finish his sentence me and Declan both jumped to our feet, screaming "Ew, no!"
Everyone looked around, confused. "She's my little sister you perv!" Declan exclaimed. The circle fell silent. "I think i should go back to campus," I scoffed. "I think that's a good idea," Declan agreed. I rolled my eyes, starting to walk off. "Wait, Peyton, I'll go with you!" I heard Zoey. "No, it's okay, I'll see you later. Enjoy the party, my first day is tomorrow, I wanna be well rested," I gave a reassuring smile. She nodded in approval, and I continued to walk out.
I cannot believe this is how I started my first night at college. I'm now going to be known as nothing other than Declan's "little" sister.
I've always lived in his shadow; I really thought this time would be different.
My reputation will always stay just the same, I guess.
