Listen to: Not sober - The Kid LAROIChapter Twenty-Two.
It's been a week since I last spoke to Sage, even with his attempts to text and call. After seeing him with that girl and embarrassing myself, I decided it was best to take a small break and really just get over this "crush". But the truth is, it was more than just some silly crush. I was falling for him, but seems like he just let me go SPLAT on the cold ground. I started this mess, I said no strings, those were the rules that I, myself, set... Yet here I am breaking every one of them.
A whole week and I've been fine, keeping my focus on school, myself, my friendship with Zoey, and anything else but him. I was okay. Back to normal.
However, tonight was the warehouse Halloween party and all I can about is him. I know I'm gonna see him. I know I'm gonna want to be the girl he's partying with.
I know I'm gonna want him.
"Time to get ready," Zoey smiled, breaking me from my thoughts. I looked in the mirror at my black skin tight, lace dress, before going and sitting in the chair. "After I curl your hair, we can do your mask and fangs," She explained, and I nodded. "You're the best." She laughed, "Wow, I didn't know Katherine Pierce could be nice." She started curling my hair. "Girl, you got to get into character." I laughed with her, "Activate cold hearted bitch mode."

We just finished two rounds of shots and I was feeling good. Confident. The warehouse was packed, sweaty, dancing bodies everywhere, some pretty sick costumes, and the strong aroma of alcohol. Half the school was here... Now this is a party.
"No fucking way." Zoey blandly said. "What?" She grabbed my shoulders and turned my body to look at the entrance. There he was. His hair a mess, a black button up with the top two buttons undone, dark jeans, black boots... His eyes met mine and he smiled and that's when I seen the fangs. Damon fucking Salvatore.
You're joking.
"Well Katerina, looks like you're in for a fun night," Zoey laughed. "Yep, more shots."
-
"Let's dance!" Zoey cheered, practically pulling me onto the floor in the middle of the crowd, but I didn't mind. Tonight is a night to be free. We were dancing when all of a sudden Declan came over, "Can I cut in?" "Babbbyyyy!" Zoey gave a cheesy smile, clearly already feeling the shots from earlier. They started dancing together and I stayed to myself, letting my eyes scan the room as I continued to dance, and that's when I seen him. He stood across the room, drinking, watching my every move.
A piece of me wished he would just come over and dance with me, but instead he walked away.
I was definitely feeling the alcohol in my system now and I was way past tipsy. I felt hot, dizzy, tired, and I couldn't find anyone. I stumbled through the crowd.
Maybe I just need another drink.
I looked around the room as I walked through, I seen Sage sitting on the couch, his arms draped over some girl's shoulders. I rolled my eyes, continuing to stumble. I found a bottle of tequila and was just about to take a swig when the bottle was snatched out of my hands. I looked and to my surprise, it was Sage.
"Give it back, Sage," I protested, my speech slurred. "Do you even know how much you've drank tonight?" He asked, holding the bottle in the air, to keep me from grabbing it back. "Not enough to forget," I mumbled, rolling my eyes. He gave me a weird look. "Peyton, you need to go home."
