Episode 22: Beginning of the End

Coulson is holding his gun up in the dark basement, he speaks over his shoulder to Skye. "Could sure use a little light in here." he comments.

Skye sees one of the soldiers moving closer.

"Got it." Trip hits a button on a device in his hand then throws it to the ground so that it slides to the center of the room illuminating the soldiers. The soldiers just stand glaring at the team.

"So, who do we talk to about getting a haircut?" Coulson asked.

Trip starts firing and the fight breaks out. Trip gets knocked to the ground as Coulson fires two guns at the soldiers. Skye rushes into the computer room and gets to work. 

Outside, one of the soldiers comes up to May. "If it isn't The Cavalry," he's holding the Berserker staff, May grabs it, hits him in the face with it and knocks him out. The staff glows orange when she takes a hold of it, she sighs and readies herself.

"Don't ever call me that." May hissed.

Skye's got the computer up and running her program as she hears the others fighting.

May takes out on of the soldiers with the staff. He hits a brick support beam causing it to collapse along with a piece of the ceiling. "Bring the house down," May uses the staff to hit another support pillar knocking it down with some ceiling as Skye continues to work. "Time to go!" The program Skye was working on finishes right as he says this, she removes the thumb drive and hurries out. May knocks down another solider and follows that with another support pillar. Coulson helps Trip to his feet then helps him out of the basement. "Come on. Let's go. Let's go." Coulson urged them.

May is the last one to the steps. She sees a couple of soldiers heading at her and she throws the staff. It hits the beam closest to her knocking it down as well as the ceiling in front of the stairs.

Garrett is on a cellphone, he's speaking to Zeller from the command center of the super soldiers.

"Our men are still digging themselves out but it looks like Coulson and the others got away."

Zeller's voice still speaking but Garrett has taken the phone away from his ear. "Do you want to –"

Garrett hangs up on him and throws the phone over his shoulder, he doesn't look worried at all. "Doesn't matter." He walks to the door of the lab, it's closed and he stares at it a moment. 

Garrett takes the door in both of his hands and pulls it out of its frame as Grant and Mike watch startled. "Are you all right?" Grant asked.

For some reason Garrett moves the door over to the side of the cargo bay with a smile. "What does it look like? Never better, son," he stares at the door for another second. "I need a nail," Garrett then yells into the lab. "Get me a nail! A big one!"

Quinn and Raina are in the lab standing side by side. "What the hell is he doing?" Quinn asked.

"He's flexing his new muscles," an agent walks over to Garrett and hands him a nail. "He has every ounce of our research coursing through his veins. He feels good." Raina replied.

"Because he took all of our miracle drug," Quinn shakes his head disappointed. "When we land at Cybertek military brass and investors are expecting a demonstration, and I promised them indestructible super soldiers – not disposable ones."
