"Wonwoo?"

I stepped out of the bathroom and was surprised to find the room empty. Wonwoo was nowhere in sight. The bed, where he had been lying before I went into the shower, was now neatly made with fresh linens.

Did the resort staff come in while I was in the bathroom? But where's Wonwoo?

I searched for my phone and immediately called him when I found it.

It rang endlessly, but Wonwoo never picked up.

I stood there in the middle of the room, feeling strangely dejected. Like something inside me was quietly falling apart. Dramatic, I know.

Waking up with Wonwoo by my side after the night we spent together felt like a dream. Cuddling in the morning, whispering meaningless conversations as we lay there, bare. It felt right. Like we were meant to share our mornings like that from now on.

Was it just me who felt that way? Am I coming on too strong? Did I scare him off? Is he... regretting everything—

"Oh, you're done?"

Wonwoo's voice breaks through my thoughts. I turn around to see him closing the door behind him, a plastic bag in hand, concern written all over his face.

"What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost or something."

He walks over to the little kitchen and starts unpacking the shopping bag.

A pack of gummy bears.

A carton of eggs.

A pack of sour worms.

Bacon.

A box of chocolates

Some greens.

A buttload  of candy.

Oil.

And even more candy, tucked into a smaller bag.

"Wow, I see you went grocery shopping."

He nodded at my remark, completely ignoring the sarcastic edge in my voice.

I walked over to his side, pressing myself against him, giving him no room to move around the cramped kitchen. I heard him huff in annoyance, clearly bothered by my clinginess. He tried to step away, but not before I managed to wrap an arm around him and pull him close.

"Mingyu, I'm not going anywhere, geez. Let me go, I'm trying to cook here."

The mountain of candy on the table, paired with the handful of non-candy items, didn't exactly scream "balanced breakfast."

"With what? Sour gummy worms and chocolates?"

"Can't you see the eggs, bacon, and greens?" he shot back, pointing at the items as he crossed his arms. His elbow nudged against my side, a not-so-subtle push for me to move and give him some space.

But enduring a little discomfort was something I'd learned I could live with. If it meant staying close to him.

"We could've just ordered room service, you know? They literally have the exact same meal with those ingredients."

That's when he finally snaps, shoving me away. Not hard, but firm enough to make a point. He circles around the table, already holding candy in his hands, glaring at me.

"Here I am, trying to cook for you, and all I'm hearing are complaints from that yapping mouth of yours."

He pouts at me. A look he wears when he feels wronged. And, well... mad. But all I could do was stand there, hopelessly falling in love all over again with how ridiculously adorable he looked in that moment.
