The Company enters Mirkwood. They are following the paved path that started at the Elven Gate. Thorin leads. At one point, the path turns a corner.

"The path goes this way," Thorin told.

As the dwarves, Bilbo, Esmeralda, and Luna keep following the path through the forest, it twists and turns over all sorts of terrain such as bare ground, high ledges, fallen tree trunks, and more. The color palette used is very blue/gray, and gloomy. Dwalin thumps the handle of his hammer on the ground to find the paving stones of the trail.

"This way," Dwalin point.

They then keep moving. Esmeralda have been passing water and food to everyone as they walk for hours.

"Air. I need air," Bofur groans.

"My head, it's spinning," Oin said.

Everyone suddenly run into each other as Nori, in front, stops abruptly.

"What's happening?," Oin asked from behind Bofur.

"Keep moving. Nori, why have we stopped?," Thorin asked from behind Oin

"The path...it's disappeared!," Nori replied.

"What's going on?," Dwalin grumbles from behind Thorin.

"We've lost the path!," Oin responded rephrasing Nori's words.

They are standing in front of a steep cliff, and there is no path ahead of them.

"Find it. All of you look. Look for the path!," Thorin bark the orders.

Esmeralda was confused as they should've moved forward. Bilbo saw this expression and can tell that Esmeralda probably knows that they should've moved forward on the other side of the cliff. Bilbo, Esmeralda, were about to say something, But Luna stop them. The two can tell that Luna saw something and this is supose to happen.

Esmeralda's eyes fog. She saw herself with someone in a building that looked like a castle hall. She is running with a smile on her face while she hears a deep, smooth, and lively chuckle from behind. She turns to see only a crown on his head and silver silk elven clothes. He looks at her with love and devotion.

Esmeralda then gets out of a small vision and goes to find the dwarves with Bilbo and Luna following behind. They kept searching and forgot the path that they left behind. The Company wanders through the forest. The forest is beginning to affect them mentally, and they stagger about.

"I don't remember this place before. None of it's familiar," Balin spoke.

"It's got to be here," Dori huffs.

"What hour is it?," Thorin asked.

"I do not know. I don't even know what day it is," Dwalin replied.

"Is there no end to this accursed place?," Thorin asked throwing his arms up.

The dwarves are all muttering and rambling as they wander about. Bilbo absentmindedly plucks a spiderweb, it vibrates, and the vibrations continue through the various linked spiderwebs and far off into the forest. Bilbo plucks the web again. He hears a strange whispering noise.

Bilbo turn to Esmeralda who is also looking up. Her eyes widen and her mouth open saying the word 'Spiders' as in plural with an s at the end. The company keeps walking, but Bilbo, Esmeralda, and Luna.

They look down to see them walking backwards only it is an illusion. Bilbo looks back at Dori, behind him, and sees himself. His entire vision begins shifting and tilting. Ori leans down and picks up a tobacco pouch. Dori then takes it from him.

"Look," Ori said.

"A tobacco pouch. There's dwarves in these woods," Dori pointed out.

Bofur takes the pouch from Dori.

"Dwarves from the Blue Mountains, no less. This is exactly the same as mine," Bofur said examining the pouch.

"Because it is yours. You understand? We're going round in circles. We are lost," Bilbo threw his hands up.

"We're not lost. We keep heading east," Dwalin grumbles.

"But which way is east? We've lost the sun," Oin asked.

As the dwarves begin bickering indistinctly, Bilbo looks up and sees a bit of sun through the tree canopy far above him. He speaks quietly, and no one else can hear him except for Esmeralda and Luna over the bickering.

"The sun. We have to find the sun. Up there. We need to-," Bilbo mutter.

The dwarves have started fighting and pushing each other around. Esmeralda looks at Luna.

'Why must they act like children if they have adult minds?' Esmeralda asked.

'We must endure it sister. If we can endure Ron and Hermione's bickering, then we can certainly endure dwarves and their stubbornness,' Luna replied.

'Hopefully, I'm this close to losing my sanity with these dwarves,' Esmeralda shakes her head.

Meanwhile, Thorin stands apart, listening. He hears the strange whispering sound that Bilbo heard earlier and mutters to himself.

"What? What's that?," he mutter.

The whispering continues, Thorin turns and yells at the dwarves.

"Enough! Quiet! All of you! We're being watched," he yells.

As for Bilbo, he climbs up one of the trees nearby, as he crawls, he doesn't notice the masses of spiderwebs all around him. His head breaks through the trees and into the air, suddenly, it is as if a spell has been broken, and Bilbo's head clears.

As he breathes deeply, he sees blue butterflies flying all around him. The sun is setting, and everything looks beautiful. Bilbo smiles and laughs. He then looks off into the distance and sees several landmarks.

He calls down loudly to the dwarves, Esmeralda, and Luna below.

"I- I can see a lake! And a river. And the Lonely Mountain. We're almost there!," Bilbo shouted

He hears no reply from the dwarves or from both Esmeralda and Luna.

"Can you hear me? I know which way to go! Hello?," Bilbo shout.

Bilbo looks down, trying to see the dwarves, Esmeralda, and Luna. He hears a thumping noise in the distance and looks up.

"Hello?," Bilbo called out.
