Aubrey broke the intense silence by asking, "oh do you guys know each other?" In an awkward tone, the rest of the team staying silent but clearly wanting to know the same thing. Paige answered with a brief and basic "yes" before turning around to go sit back down. The whole team knew this wasn't like Paige's normal energetic self, usually if she was meeting someone new, or even just talking to someone she hasn't talked to in a while, she would be all bubbly and welcoming. This wasn't the Paige the team knew, but it was clearly the Paige Brianna knew.

After yet another moment of silence, the rest of the team followed Paige to sit back down, leaving only one seat for Brianna. Between KK and Paige. Brianna frantically looked around hoping to see another chair free, but there wasn't. As she sat down she could see from the corner of her eye that Paige had tensed up. Once Brianna was sat, her shoulder brushed Paige's shoulder, panic filling Brianna as she quickly shuffled away, breaking the brief contact between them.

Paige flinched at the touch and it shot a tingling sensation up and down her arm even minutes after the brief interaction, she could feel her skin heating up under her zip up hoodie, making her uncomfortable. She was trying to control her body temperature before the redness spread to her face, she didn't want anyone to notice what effect Brianna had on her, even though all of the team could see that Paige was bothered by the fact Brianna was even here. Her presence made Paige angry, but she couldn't help but notice that in their close proximity, Brianna was wearing the same perfume she did back in high school, it was her signature smell. Paige loved the smell, and for a long time it was the scent of the jumper she would fall asleep in every night. Oddly the scent brang peace to Paige, allowing her to relax for a second before coming back to reality and realising who that smell belonged to, causing her to tense up for the hundredth time in the last 20 minutes.

Geno began to speak, "girls, now that we have all met Brianna." An array of faint smiles directed to Brianna broke out, "let's get started on the icebreakers, but hold on, Paige and Brianna, how do you know each other?" The whole team's eyes darted to look at both of them, all filled with curiosity. Brianna began speaking, "we went to the same high school" she forced out a smile towards Geno. Jana began to speak, "Brianna, you look familiar, did we have any classes together last year?" Brianna responded, "Oh no, I'm a transfer from Minnesota, I've only been at uconn for a little less than a month."
"I agree, Brianna girl you do look familiar, I just can't put my finger on it" KK followed up, causing the rest of the team to break out in a quiet hum of agreement. Before anyone could say anything else, Paige interrupted, "she was in the slam video that was made when I was in high school. I know coach told all of you to watch it, and clearly you did" Paige said whilst unconsciously releasing a sigh. Brianna's face began to go a light pink, she wished for this conversation to move on. After yet another moment of awkward silence, the atmosphere becoming more intense by the minute, Geno introduced what the first ice breaker would be. Two truths and a lie.

This is turning into a slow burn but I'm kinda enjoying it. Please like so I know that people are actually enjoying this. SOMEONE PLEASE COMMENT IM ACTUALLY BEGGING lol, idk I just want to make sure that this is good so some confirmation would be nice. If you have any ideas or plot suggestions, let me know because I'm currently going with the flow and i don't really have a set plan, so I'm open to anything, of course I will credit btw!!!
Also my chapters/parts are quite short, idk that's just how I write, I feel like if I make them too big I kinda begin to waffle and drag it on for too long. Also in books I prefer short chapters coz it feels like I'm reading quicker, but if you guys want longer parts, let me know and I'll try my hardest!!
