He didn't understand. One minute he was talking to old relatives at his niece's birthday party, the next he was being thrown to the floor, kicked, assaulted and screamed at. He was so confused but it all came together when his neck was grabbed and he was yanked to his feet.

“How dare you! I thought we were family! How dare you touch my daughter!!” the voice of his older brother Hunter was yelling down at him. Followed by the voices of his other older brothers. Rex, Fives, Echo, Wrecker and Tech.

“Woah! Hunter! Put him down! Let's…”

“Shut up Tech, this little shit got away with everything when we were kids. It wouldn't surprise me if…”

Hearing enough he kicked the bodies away from him and flipped backwards. The gasps of shock were followed by another voice.

“Commander Crosshair, stand down right now. I will deal with this” the voice of his commanding officer, someone from his past who had seen his instincts kick in.

Without a care in the world, Crosshair crossed his arms over his chest to prevent himself from hitting those he called family. The same family which split up when he was seven and when they all came together again, he was thirteen. A lot changed in those six years considering he was sent to live with his mother, who abused him in every way, not that his brothers knew about that, they thought their mother was rich and he had the luxury life while their father worked his arse off for them. But then again he was 28 and only came around when he had to, he had joined the military at 16, been welcomed into another family who saw potential in him and he was a commander by the time he was 22, leading missions with his now partner who he met at 20.

“Enough, let’s deal with this in private” none other than Cody stood in between the brothers who continued to glare at the silver-haired younger brother.

“No” Hunter stated, he glared at Cody who only raised an eyebrow, “No offence Cody but this has nothing to do with you. Now I suggest you step aside and let us family deal with it” Hunter snarled at Cody who actually flinched at those words especially since he was Rex’s ex-husband, they had only got a divorce 5 months ago due to an incident. Rex didn’t look like he wanted to argue but he glared at Hunter for his disrespect especially since Cody had been in the brother’s lives for years.

“Look I know you want to deal with this and yes it may not be my business but you must remember I still see you all as family even after what happened with Rex and I. However this is a formal event and you have caused a scene in the middle of the garden, now everyone is paying attention and your consequences could inflict damage for life on whoever is at the end of the….”

“Spare the scolding Cody and fuck off” Fives snarled at the older man who frowned, Cody didn’t move from in between Hunter and Crosshair especially since Crosshair looked to Cody for a lot of guidance.

“Look, just explain what happened” Cody grunted out, he watched Rex blink before another spoke.

“Crosshair is responsible for Omega’s attack” Echo bluntly stated.

“And how do you know that? There has been no evidence and…”

“Megs, woke up and told me. She’s in the room with her mother and aunt, she woke up halfway through the event” Hunter snapped, he was seething with anger. Crosshair flinched hearing the fury in his older brother's tone, old memories tried to take over his thoughts but he managed to get rid of them with a shake of a head. Cody didn’t exactly know what to do but he did turn his body to slightly face Crosshair who wore a confused expression.

“Tell me, what exactly Omega said about the attack?” Cody didn’t want to talk in the open about Hunter’s daughter’s kidnapping which had led to several assaults on her body including physical and traces of sexual but according to the reports, she was very lucky to not be actually assaulted in a sexual manner. Even if Omega had been through rounds of therapy, hospital trips and several other things including a lie detector, it was discovered she wasn’t sexually assaulted but she was told of who was to blame. She was manipulated until law enforcement managed to get her home to her family. However, her kidnapper was never found, they had disappeared off grid.
