The Bad Batch - Mini Stories

The Pack's Omega (Alpha/Beta/Omega)

“Guys! Guys! Wake up! You won’t believe me but I think I caught scent of our omega” 

Wrecker’s booming voice definitely woke his sleeping mates, Echo blinked awake from where he and Hunter were curled around Tech, the youngest in the room asleep after having haunting nightmares all night. They revolved around their youngest, the omega of the pack who had vanished eighteen months ago after their house had been broken into and burned to the ground with a symbol which showed betrayal in the eyes of the family. It was a local gang who had gone around kidnapping omegas. Crosshair wasn’t the only one missing, Kix, Boil, Cody, Ahsoka, Padme and plenty others vanished. Not only omega’s had been taken but so had few beta’s and Tech was almost one of them but thankfully their three alpha’s had his back.

On top of that Tech had found Crosshair a few days before in an almost nurturing mood which was later confirmed by the detective, Echo’s older brother. Rex that their omega was expecting which had them all very worried. But as the months passed many were told devastating news such as Alpha Anakin Skywalker who found his wife dead with pups curled into her body, she had been used. But made sure her children survived, it only worried the pack more. Even Obi-wan and Jesse never stopped looking for their respected mates. 

“Are you sure, this better not be a joke Wrecker” Hunter ordered in his sargeant voice only for them all to be interrupted by the doorbell to their apartment going off. Echo immediately climbed to his feet as he protected the half-awake Tech as Wrecker opened the door ready to square the other individual down only for him to freeze seeing Rex, the detective gestured that they needed to talk. Immediately Hunter invited him in but even though Rex was family Tech was protected on all sides even if their actions caused the engineer to roll his eyes at their masculinity and protectiveness. 

“Want something to drink, captain?” Wrecker nudged the alpha who rolled his eyes. 

“It’s detective Wrecker and no thank you but I do suggest we speed this along because this is important” Rex pushed his words in urgency. 

“What is it, Rex?” Echo’s tone had all heads turning to the older member of the batch, Rex could only sigh. 

“Crosshair has been found” 

Those four words had a silence like no other cutting through the room. 

“What? Where?” Hunter asked, his forgotten alpha instincts kicking in. 

“Calm down, look all I know he was found in breeding ring beside my brother-in-law, Kix” 

Hunter could only reach for Wrecker and Tech’s hands while Echo held tightly to Tech’s hips and placed a hand on Rex’s arms, his older brother nodded in thanks. 

“Where?” Tech asked calmly. 

“I don’t know where he was kept but…” 

“Where is he?” Tech pressed his words through his gritted teeth, Rex looked up in shock. The beta was the least he expected to work out; he was screwing around the truth.  

“Tech you know farewell I can’t disclose that type of information unless I’m given full consent…” 

“REX!” Tech roared at Rex, confusing his mates who reached out to hold the beta who almost broke down in their arms. 

“They were being held by Nala Se” Another voice entered the conversation as Lieutenant Jesse walked into the room, he looked furious. Tech shoved his arms away from his mates and lunged for Jesse who pulled him in for a tight hug. Jesse was always there for Tech when the others never understood plus on top of that he and Kix used to look after them when they were younger, almost becoming older brother figures to the batch or a mother in Kix’s world. But no one could replace Cody, the mother of the batch, he had essentially adopted them when Echo introduced his mates to the commander and Rex the first time.
