Compass

Some said that a galaxy could be explored via a compass, not only one digitally but one that beats within one's chest. Others believed it was a fairytale, a story told to children and those who believed it were too naive to understand. Especially those who had lost their childhood too soon but very few clung onto that idea. That if they ever got lost, they'd follow their heartbeat across the universe until it slowed to their goal. One of which an individual who had gone through hell, hoped to find especially after escaping with a child nonetheless from the Empire's grasp.

The same child was determined to find the rest of their family by just hints, but that child never understood what the adult of the two knew. This adult watched the child get frustrated when their plans fell apart while the adult remained silent, watching the way the child never gave up, even when the argument occurred between them, all because the adult of the two refused to talk and/or help.

Eventually though, the child made contact with the others of the so-called family and after stealing a ship, the child and the adult had landed on a nearby planet where a very famous ship sat. One that couldn't be mistaken.

The child wasted no time in sprinting down the ramp and across the where an eager bigger man wrapped the child up.

“OMEGA! Ah kid! We've missed you!” A distinctive voice belonged to Wrecker, a demolition expert who spun the small girl around until more footsteps revealed to be the leader of the small family, the almost father of the child.

“Hunter!”

“Kid!” Hunter scrambled to his knees to wrap up the child, the female of their small family, “Now, how did you escape on your own?” Hunter whispered, kissing her hairline.

“I didn't….I had help” Omega said with a happy smile as she pointed over her shoulder, both Wrecker and Hunter looked up expecting another individual, one they were dreading after receiving the message from Omega about her escaping with another clone, one they knew. One they actually had mixed feelings about.

However Omega's frown deepened when no one emerged, she moved over to the ship with Hunter holding tightly to her hand. All three of them moved towards it, only to stop as footsteps revealed another, one thought they had lost for good.

“T-Tech?”

Both Wrecker and Hunter stuttered seeing the sight of their brother, one they thought they were dead. Was standing directly in front of them, still in his broken armour, the only difference was the factor of him having a full left arm to be cybernetic. Somehow he was alive and still mostly the same even if he and Omega had argued on the way over here, especially since they had left someone Tech cared about deeply back at Tantiss.

“Hunter? Wrecker? It's good to see you…kind of…” Tech half-joked, squinting to see the two, his vision was terrible. Hunter and Wrecker wasted no time in wrapping up their brother, the basic baby of the family at this current moment. Even if Tech's heartbeat didn't slow to happiness, he knew one thing, his mission with the Empire was not over, because he had someone to rescue.

Twenty-Six Months Later…

The Clone Rebellion couldn't believe it, their plans had worked, they had managed to take down not only Mount-Tantiss but the Emperor, none of them had taken the shot but someone else out there in the universe had. Peace spread through the rebellion for a bit as clones had the chance to live longer, especially since Nala Se had given Omega the secret to the deceleration process. Even a missing 501st medic had been found personally by Captain Rex and Arc trooper Echo, both of them had hugged Kix to almost death when they found the fragile medic.

Many of them were happy, they could raise their families without the urge to watch over their backs. Obviously some struggled to adjust, especially those who finally had the chance to mourn those lost or those still missing. Those of which, were put on posters and the network to find them but it was a lost cause especially when some had the skills to disappear for good.
