It had been three months since he had been taken non-voluntarily from Kamino by his supposed caring batch who had no trust in him, not that he blamed them since he had been trying to escape the past few weeks claiming he had to get something. None of them believed him and Hunter even went so far in sedating him claiming his mind was destroyed by the chip. However, one member knew one thing, Crosshair was desperate to leave but for what reason, well he was to find out while the others were at the market.
Slowly he approached the silent marksman who was actually cuffed to a nearby bunk, Crosshair was shaking terribly not from the cold but an onslaught of emotions that he had kept to himself the past few months. Everytime Tech caught the sniper he was looking at his imperial helmet with a dark glare but almost desperate.
“Hey”
“...”
Silence that’s what Tech expected as he came to sit beside the marksman, Crosshair didn’t even lift his head to show his interest or greet the engineer.
“I want to help you”
“...”
“Please Crosshair, you wouldn’t be fighting this desperately if it was just to return to the Empire. Which is why I have worked out that you have left someone behind, one that is particularly in danger”
“How?”
That was the first word in weeks out of Crosshair who looked up in surprise at the slightly older clone.
“Because I still love you and I can’t let this go on any longer. Hunter forced me to stay away claiming you would manipulate me through our past love and…”
“I left our kid behind”
Tech froze, Crosshair hung his head in shame while Tech processed what had been said. It took him a minute for him to snap into action, a release of a clamp had Crosshair looking at his wrists in shock as the handcuffs came away.
“When?”
“I was pregnant before order 66, in the brig I felt more pain than I had ever experienced. I was taken from the room for a reason, not because my chip was active but because I was carrying one of the first pure clones. Nala took me directly to a lab beforehand and gave me something that would make sure the baby wasn’t shown on the Empire’s scans. I’m sorry Tech”
“Where is it?”
“I left her with a close friend of ours. Commander Howzer has been watching her while I have been deployed but there is only so much he can keep her hidden without suspicion since I did break him out of the Empire Cells and he was my second in command” Crosshair coughed out, Tech moved to give him some water and a ration bar. The marksman actually accepted it.
“Good. So she’s safe”
“She was three months ago but…”
Tech only rolled his eyes, he knew why Crosshair never told the batch because one thing none of the others trusted him and it sounded like fake news.
“Why didn’t you tell us?”
“Really Tech? They wouldn’t have believed me”
“Why me?”
“It’s obvious, I trust you cyare”
Tech smiled pulling Crosshair into a kiss of a lifetime, the marksman slumped into him allowing Tech full control. The kiss lasted a long time before Tech pulled back.
“Armour and rifle is in the case behind you. I don’t care what colour you wear. Let’s go get our daughter” Tech said with a smile, jogging off into the cockpit which had Crosshair smiling. The marksman stood up on wobbly legs, which was due to him never moving and not eating. He moved swiftly over to his much older armour which was clearly more safer than the imperial armour but last he checked his daughter could be anywhere so he made the decision on taking the imperial helmet and extracting the comm unit out of it. He took Tech’s scrambler and activated it.
