A Job is a Job at the End of the Day

One last job that's what he was calling it even if it included rescuing captured clones and rebels of the Empire and yet he found himself hacking into the rebels communications and saving the same bastards who almost killed him several times even after he removed their chips or spared their lives.

It was known to a small group of clones who had been thrown aside by brothers and anyone just because of past mistakes. Ones under the orders of the Republic, the same Jedi who started the war.

"Are you sure about this ad'ika?"

"Not really but it's what we are being paid to do"

"Okay, stay safe son"

He could only blink watching two clones who had become his family run into the facility and break in with ease while he himself climbed in from the top. Using the shadows to his advantage he managed to take down those on watch even if he spooked some in cages, he didn't care. He was here for one reason and that was to survive.

So he wasn't surprised to see not only several clones he knew in cells but those of his past, one he wished to forget. He was quite thankful for the change in his armour and the cloak that was wrapped tightly around his armour shielding him. On top of that his rifle was in parts so it was hidden, on different parts of his body.

"Intruder! Intruder! I repeat! Two intruders heading for the cells"

Rex looked up from where he had been moping beside Echo, the batch sitting around the cell with several rebels who had been caught in their last storm on the capital.

"Friends of yours, Rex?"

"No, Echo"

Several loud stomping noises turned all attention to the incoming storm troopers, and what was left of the clones was gone. Now it was all nat-borns who worked for the Empire.

"Turn around and face the wall" one of the troopers called out, making all clones flinch especially when the guns were activated to face them and the shields dropped.

Hunter could only scoop Omega up and use his body to block hers, she clung to both him and Wrecker who placed his body in the way of his brothers. Rex ignored the troopers as he and Howzer faced the blasters only to be shoved violently, the two ended up twisting around only to miss the several smoke bombs to go off and the shields to go back up.

Screams of surprise had all clones and rebels turning to see nothing but smoke and hear the odd blaster go off.

"Hunter, what's going on?" Omega's question voiced many of their thoughts.

"I don't know, Saw?" Hunter turned to the rebel who shook his head, not understanding neither until the smoke cleared and three hooded individuals stood amongst several bodies.

"Who are you?" Rex called out only for the shields to remain up. They never received a verbal response but several bangs on the outdoors had one of the hooded figures vanishing into the shadows as one walked forward only to press a button and drop the shields.

"Thanks I guess" Echo said only for the hooded figure to point at the door beside them and signed a strange symbol that only Saw picked up on.

"Their saying don't go left. Take a right and some Wolfpack is waiting?" Saw translated, the hooded figure nodded before an explosion off to the side of the facility had them all freezing.

"Thank you whoever you are," Omega said with a smile only for the hooded figure to nod and head backwards towards the other two who were doing whatever they could to provide cover.

"Are we really going to leave them?" Wrecker questioned.

"We don't have a choice, grab your gear and get a move on troops!" Rex ordered, falling back into command with Saw helping.
