Jungkook took a deep breath as he stood outside the sleek glass doors of Kim Corporation once again, this time as an employee. Today was his first official day as Kim Taehyung’s personal assistant, and his stomach churned with a mix of excitement and nervousness. He had been so close to blowing the interview, but now here he was, holding a company ID badge and dressed in his best attire.

"Okay, Jungkook," he muttered to himself, trying to hype himself up, "you’ve got this. You’re going to be the best assistant ever. No mistakes. No clumsiness."

With one final breath of determination, he pushed the doors open and entered the building. The receptionist barely glanced at him as he walked past, which only added to his nerves. Everyone here seemed so polished, so professional, while he still felt like a deer caught in headlights.

Upstairs, Taehyung was already sitting at his desk, his sharp eyes scanning over documents with his usual cold demeanor. When Jungkook timidly knocked and entered his office, Taehyung didn’t even glance up.

"You’re late," Taehyung stated flatly, not bothering to check the clock.

Jungkook’s eyes widened. "I-I am? But it’s—"

"Exactly on time," Taehyung interrupted, finally looking up with a raised brow. "But in my world, on time is late."

Jungkook blinked, his mouth hanging slightly open. "Oh… I didn’t know that."

Taehyung sighed, clearly unimpressed. "There’s a lot you don’t know, Mr. Jeon. But that’s why you’re here. Let’s get one thing straight: I hate inefficiency. If I tell you to do something, it should be done before I even finish speaking. Understood?"

Jungkook nodded rapidly. "Yes, sir!"

But the intensity of Taehyung’s gaze made his heart race in a way that was far more confusing than intimidating. It wasn’t just the man’s coldness—it was the way he held himself, the way he exuded power and confidence. Jungkook’s breath hitched slightly as he noticed just how ridiculously good-looking Taehyung was up close, with sharp features and an air of effortless authority.

Focus, Jungkook!

"You’ll start by organizing my schedule and making sure all my meetings are in order," Taehyung said, gesturing toward his desk, which had piles of neatly stacked files. "I expect you to know what I need before I need it."

"Right!" Jungkook smiled, eager to prove himself. "You can count on me, sir!"

Taehyung raised an eyebrow. "We’ll see."

As the morning passed, Jungkook busied himself trying to make sense of Taehyung’s impossibly full schedule. Meetings, conferences, business calls—it was overwhelming. But Jungkook was determined to impress his cold boss. He quickly jotted down notes, created alerts on his phone, and color-coded everything in a neat little system.

By lunchtime, Jungkook was beginning to feel more confident. Sure, Taehyung hadn’t said much beyond the occasional grunt of acknowledgment, but at least he hadn’t yelled at him. Yet.

"Mr. Kim," Jungkook called out, peeking into the office. Taehyung was typing away at his computer, his expression as stoic as ever.

"What is it?" Taehyung asked, not looking up from his screen.
