Jungkook smiled as he held the phone to his ear, leaning against the balcony of their hotel room in Paris. The sun was setting, casting a golden glow over the city’s skyline. He had just finished a heartwarming conversation with Mrs. Kim, Taehyung’s mother. Her warmth and motherly presence always put him at ease, and today was no exception.

"I did it, Mrs. Kim," Jungkook said, his voice brimming with excitement. "I actually made Taehyung smile today! It wasn’t much, but I swear I saw it."

Mrs. Kim’s gentle laughter filled the line, a sound that always made Jungkook feel like he was talking to his own family. "Oh, sweetheart, that’s wonderful! I told you, didn’t I? He’s tough on the outside, but you’re softening him bit by bit. I’m so proud of you."

Jungkook’s heart swelled at her words. Mrs. Kim had always treated him like one of her own, offering advice and encouragement whenever he felt lost. It was a relationship he had come to cherish deeply. He could almost picture her now, smiling warmly from wherever she was.

"Thank you," Jungkook murmured, a soft blush creeping up his cheeks. "It feels... nice, like we’re finally breaking through that wall he’s put up. I just hope it lasts."

"It will," Mrs. Kim reassured him, her voice filled with quiet confidence. "He’s not used to this kind of connection, but with you by his side, I know he’ll come around. You have a way of bringing out the best in people."

Jungkook smiled softly, glancing back into the room where Taehyung was still in the bathroom. The sound of the shower running was faint but comforting, a reminder of the person he was slowly getting closer to. "Yeah... I really hope so. We even talked a lot today, more than usual."

"That’s wonderful progress, Jungkook," Mrs. Kim said, her tone gentle. "Just take it one day at a time. You’re doing great. Don’t rush it, okay?"

"Okay," Jungkook agreed, feeling lighter after their conversation. "Thank you again, Mrs. Kim. I’ll keep you updated. Bye for now."

"Goodbye, sweetheart. Take care of yourself, and Taehyung too," she added kindly before the line disconnected.

Jungkook slipped his phone into his pocket just as the bathroom door creaked open. He glanced up, and his breath hitched in his throat. Taehyung stepped out, a towel hanging low on his hips, his damp hair tousled messily. Water droplets still clung to his toned chest, catching the dim light of the room. He looked effortlessly stunning, and Jungkook’s heart skipped a beat.

Taehyung barely glanced in his direction as he walked towards the closet, his expression as unreadable as ever. But even in his usual cool demeanor, there was something softer, something less guarded than before. Jungkook bit his lip, quickly averting his eyes as his cheeks flushed. The sight of Taehyung like this—casual, almost vulnerable—was more than enough to leave him flustered.

Before he could gather himself, a knock at the door echoed through the room. A waiter entered, pushing a cart laden with breakfast. Taehyung moved toward the bed, signing for the meal with practiced ease. Jungkook tried to focus on anything but the fact that Taehyung was still sitting on his bed, towel wrapped loosely around his waist, acting as if this was the most natural thing in the world.

"How are you feeling?" Taehyung asked, his tone casual as he began uncovering the plates of food.

Jungkook blinked, momentarily thrown off by the normalcy of the question. "Oh... I’m fine," he replied, though his voice came out higher than usual. He cleared his throat awkwardly, trying to compose himself.

Taehyung raised an eyebrow, the corner of his mouth twitching up in what might have been a smirk. "You don’t sound fine," he said, amusement lacing his tone. "You look like you’ve seen a ghost."

Jungkook flushed deeper, waving off the comment with a nervous laugh. "No, really, I’m fine."

Taehyung chuckled, the sound low and warm as he stood and placed a plate in front of Jungkook before sitting back down. There was something strangely domestic about the moment—Taehyung, in nothing but a towel, serving him breakfast. It was both comforting and utterly nerve-wracking at the same time.

They ate in a companionable silence, the kind that had become familiar over the past few weeks. Jungkook found himself sneaking glances at Taehyung between bites, admiring the way he moved with such quiet confidence. There was a certain ease in how Taehyung carried himself now, a stark contrast to the icy, aloof man he had first met.

After finishing his meal, Taehyung stood and stretched, his muscles rippling under his skin as the towel shifted dangerously low. Jungkook’s eyes widened, and he quickly averted his gaze, focusing intently on the remnants of his food.

"Get ready," Taehyung said, his voice returning to its usual brisk tone as he walked toward the closet. "We’ll be leaving for the airport soon."

Jungkook nodded, quickly standing to gather his things. They packed their bags in silence, a comfortable rhythm settling between them. Before long, they were on their way to catch their flight to Canada.

---

The plane ride was quiet, but there was a newfound energy between them that Jungkook couldn’t quite place. He sat by the window, staring out at the endless sea of clouds as Taehyung settled beside him. Every so often, he felt Taehyung’s gaze flicker toward him, and each time, his heart raced.

As the hours passed, Jungkook’s eyes grew heavy with sleep. He hadn’t realized how tired he was until he felt himself drifting off. Just as his head began to slump against the window, he felt something soft drape over his shoulders. Blinking sleepily, he looked down to see Taehyung’s jacket wrapped around him.

Jungkook glanced up, surprise etched on his face, but Taehyung’s expression remained stoic, his eyes fixed on the clouds outside. "You looked cold," Taehyung muttered, almost as if he were embarrassed by the gesture.

A warmth spread through Jungkook’s chest, and he smiled softly, pulling the jacket tighter around himself. "Thank you," he whispered, his voice barely above a breath.

The rest of the flight passed in a comfortable silence, with Jungkook eventually falling asleep under the comforting weight of Taehyung’s jacket. When he woke, the plane was already descending, and Taehyung was still seated beside him, quietly staring out at the view of Canada below.

---

Toronto greeted them with its bustling energy and crisp, autumn air. After checking into their hotel, Taehyung surprised Jungkook by suggesting they explore the city. They wandered through the streets, stopping at a cozy café before making their way to the harbor to watch the sunset.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, Jungkook stole glances at Taehyung, watching the way the fading light softened his sharp features. For the first time in a long while, it felt like they were more than just a CEO and his secretary. There was something deeper, something unspoken but undeniably present.

As they sat side by side, watching the last rays of sunlight disappear over the water, Jungkook couldn’t help but wonder where this new connection would lead. There was a warmth between them now, a fragile but growing bond. And for the first time, Jungkook allowed himself to hope that maybe, just maybe, this could be the beginning of something real.
