It's getting close to homecoming now and I'm beginning to be numbed by the endless buzz of school.
"Homecomings coming up" I nudged Will. hoping, praying he would get the hint. he was going to ask me, right?
"yeah, what about it. It's dumb night where all the bitchy girls and the revved guys get together and mash their genitals in the janitors closet, it's an embarrassment" He laughed rubbing my back.
"What?" I questioned sitting up, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "Huh?" he hummed, not thinking anything of his comment.
"you hate homecoming?" I repeated to myself. "yeah, but if you-" I cut him off. "No it's fine it doesn't really matter I was just saying" I brushed it off.
-------
"Will hates school dances!" I ranted to my aunt Meredith. "I knew he was too perfect" she laughed scrambling to pack the kids lunches.
"He was too perfect" I sighed. "It's never too late M" She patted my shoulder. "Oh how I hope you're right!" I smiled a bit. "I am" she said cockily, but it was easier to believe her.
-------
"Tals I don't know what to do" I ranted. "Well you could always just go with a guy as a friend?" she suggested. "and will would like that?" I laughed. "well you guys aren't explicit, right?" Talia raised an eyebrow.
"No but I don't think it would be right, I feel like we have something" I confided, "I could go alone?" I suggested. "Not if you plan on going with me or the rest of the group" she laughed.
-------
"So she told you if you want to go with the group you had to have a date?" April confirmed. "Mhm" I nodded. "Man I hate teenage girls" Jo sighed, "well can't you go with a different group?"
"Not if I want to see the light of daylight ever again, I just wish I could go with Will" I frowned. "Wait why can't you?" Jo wondered. "He thinks homecoming is pathetic and hates all school dances" I groaned.
"Tell him how you feel! If he cares about you he will suck it up and put the damn suit on!" April emphasized. "I don't want to pressure him, I'm scared he doesn't view me as a girlfriend, more casual" I sighed.
"Hon look at me" April ordered, "Do you remember my wedding?" I nodded. "If you never try you'll never know, and even though Jackson and I are inbetween blurred lines right now I wouldn't trade our relationship for the world. I am so grateful for Harriet and my life, so don't be scared" April hugged me.
"Also if it's any comfort I've seen the way he looks at you" Jo smiled. "the look of love" April laughed. "the look of love indeed" Jo repeated.
-------
"Why the long face little Shep?" Uncle Mark asked sitting beside me in the gallery. "Will" I confessed. "What did he do?" Mark shot turning towards me. "Nothing, I just don't know where we stand" I sighed looking down at the patient on the table. life could be worse.
"Can I give you a piece of advice?" he offered. "Sure" I nodded. "If you love someone you tell them. Even if you're scared it'll cause problems. Even if you're scared it will burn your life to the ground. You say it, you say it loud and you go from there" He explained. I had a lot to decide.
-------
"So what movie are we gonna watch?" Will asked climbing into bed but I tensed up. "are you okay princess?" he asked.
"Will I have no idea if this is just a game to you or what, but I'm not a type of casual girl and I have no idea if you feel the same way but I really like you,-" I vented.
"Don't stress you're going to get wrinkle lines, now to the main concern, yes I feel the same way. I just didn't want to push you after Jakob" he confessed.
"oh," I sighed "well I'm sorry I put you in that position." "It's okay. But now that we know, will you, Morgan Addison Shepherd be my girlfriend?" he proposed.
"Only under the condition you be my date to homecoming" I went out on a limb on this one. "Ughh it's just a stupid dance!" he groaned. "a stupid dance I care about" I pouted. "Fine, I will take you to the homecoming dance" he grinned.
