36. Bad man

    It was supposed to be another day at school. It was just supposed to be another day at school. Why wasn't it just another day at school.

    "Hey Moeee" Taisa waved at me. "Hii Tay" I smiled back. "I can't believe we already have a Bio test today, we just got off break" she rolled her eyes. "Oh I know, I practically had to pull an all nighter!" I agreed, rubbing my tired eyes.

    "Well I'll see you in fourth, love you girly" she rushed off. "Love you too T" I waved.

    First period was awkward since the break up but it pushed me to get closer with Lola. Even though most of the time I was just having to water down the content for her.

    "Okay class you all need a text book again so go and grab one from the cart" Mrs Kim ordered. "I'll get you one" I smiled at Lola. "Aw thank you M" she appreciated.

    "Here" Will handed me two books. "Thank you" I nodded going back to my seat. "Did you hear that?" Lola asked.

    "Hear what?" I questioned turning back to my notes. All of a sudden the noise got louder. "That" she repeated and we both went pale.

    "Attention students and staff" we all heard over the intercom "This is not a drill, we are entering a lockdown, this is not a dril"

    "What do we do?" Lola whispered. "Kids, get in the corner" she pointed to the corner of the room. "Where are you going?" A student asked Mrs Kim "Out of here!" she exclaimed running out of the room.

    "We need to baricade the door!" Will took charge grabbing desks. "Will are you crazy? With all that noise you'll lead him right to us!" Lola urged. "It's our best chance" I agreed.

    Since we were in the old building the school hadn't gotten around to putting locks on the exterior rooms yet. They were supposed to be done this week. They were supposed to be done. None of this was supposed to happen.

    Almost an hour had passed and we heard the person and the screams getting louder, getting closer. We heard someone bang on the door yelling, "he's on our floor!" before we heard even more gunshots

    We heard metal scape against the classroom floor. Our worst fear was coming true. He was trying to get in. "I got you" Will whispered trying to cover me so they would shoot him first.

    Gun shots. More Gunshots, I felt something enter my abdomen, more gunshots, and then he was gone.

    I finally got a look at the man as he was leaving. It was a pale old man definitely not a student, not a teacher I've ever seem, nor parent. He had no reason to shoot me, all of us, but he did.

    "Morgan you were shot!" Will exclaimed. "S-S-So were yo-u" I struggled to breathe seeing his arm gushing blood as well. "Don't worry about me, you're going to be fine" he smiled his tears landing on my face.

     "SWAT WE HAVE YOU SURROUNDED DROP THE WEAPON!" The police broke down the door outside the classroom. "I didn't want to do it" the guy rambled.

    "Drop the weapon Mr. Guye" the police repeated. "I didn't mean to kill them all!" he repeated. I started to lose conciousness. "Morgan!" Will yelled.

    "Morgannnnn!!" he cried out trying to stop the bleeding with his own shirt. "You're going to be okay, we just need to get you to the hospital with your family, you're going to be okay!"

    "Patient Morgan Shepherd aged 14 GSW to the abdomen" The EMT rushed Morgan inside. "It's Morgan!" April shrieked. "Can you handle this Kepner?" Owen questioned. "Yes, yes sir" she wiped her eyes. "Well good because they keep pilling in" he nodded.

    "Morgan?" Amelia stood in the door way. "Meils come on we need to go to the waiting room" Meredith urged. "Noooo my baby" she fell to the floor.

     "Hey Amelia, I'm going to take care of her" Arizona promised, "I got her, you need go to the waiting room, okay?" she helped her off the floor.

    "What do we got?" Bailey asked. "Baby shepherd has a GSW to the abdomen" Zona replied. "Oh no" Bailey covered her mouth. "We need you in here Bailey, pull it together" April insisted.

    Meredith almost had to drag Amelia to the waiting room. It was going to be a hard day. But it had only just begun. The chaos now at Grey-Sloan was in full capacity.

"What kind of mother does it make me if I can't save my own daughter" Amelia cried. "That doesn't say anything about you, you had her somewhere you thought she would be safe and someone took that safety from you. None of that is your fault" Mer comforted.

"Morgan is so so so strong, like her mother. She will pull through" Meredith promised. It had been a little over four hours since Morgan went into surgery and the waiting room was filled with dozens more parents just as scared.

I felt a sting in my abdomen as I jolted awake. "Where's Will?" I questioned. "You're awake!" Mom and Mer jumped up. "Jakobs in the waiting room" Mer explained.

"Where's Will he saved my life, is he okay?" I asked again. "Hold on let me find out" Mer got on one of the tablets, "he is in OR 1 bullet extraction and shoulder fracture but stable good stats" she assured.

"Okay" I exhaled. "Do you want to see Jakob?" Mom asked. "Not right now, I need a minute to breathe" I requested. "Take as long as you need" Mom cried.
