"I feel like I'm not really happy, Ithiel. There's a big void in my heart right now, we've been in a band for about five years now, and I have all this money and the stage and the people and I am living the dream, but why do I feel so empty inside?" He took a deep breath and smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes this time.
"I am always a happy person, I grew up in a supportive family, I love my parents and I have a very kind sister who listens to me, who studies very well, and respects our parents. I love it when I sing and perform on stage. I'm thankful for all the hardship we faced and went through and I'm very much grateful for all the things I have right now. I am happy." I watched him swallow after that and waited for him.
"Why do I feel so empty? It looks like I have everything in my life but why doesn't it feel like that? And then every time I look at you or Kweslin or even Hazael, you have this simple life, he's a potter, Kweslin is a baker and you go your ways and carefree you all look like you got everything you need but I'm petty sure i got all the wealth, so I don't understand."
"Madrous... I'm happy you're here." he looked up and our eyes met, agad ko siyang nginitian. I know he was confused by what I just said but I just smiled at him.
"We'll help you with all the questions you have for us, he's ready for you," he stared at me and didn't say anything, napangiti na lang din talaga ako, silence enveloped us and then all of a sudden we heard someone knocking on my door making me break my eyes off of Madrous.
I sighed and stood up to open my own door and to see who it was, I smiled immediately when I saw Jathen standing in front.
"Oh? Nandito ka?" he said when he entered and saw Madrous sitting at the dining table.
"Andito ka rin," Madrous replied, making Jathen nod, he put one hand in his pocket while the other one held a paper bag.
"I was given permission to come tonight, may problema ba?" his eyes suddenly became worried as he put down his bag and went closer to Madrous who sniffed and shook his head.
"Wala," he answered and then looked over at Hazael who was sitting beside him, he nodded at Jathen tapos nag-man hug sila ni Hazael.
"Kumain ka na ba? Kakatapos lang namin were about to eat dessert," sabi niya kay Jathen na dahan dahan niro-roll ang sleeves ng cardigan na suot suot niya.
"I'm good, I brought some desserts too," he said and then pouted at the paper bag na dala dala niya na ibinaba niya na sa lamesa.
"Let's sit outside, you want? It's kind of cozy there, hindi rin masyado malamig," Hazael offered and all of us agreed.
"I'll help," Jathen said when I took the paper bag para maayos 'yon sa plato.
"Help ko na lang si Hazael mag-set up ng sa labas." I nodded at Madrous when he walked past over us, kami naman ni Jathen dumiretso sa kusina para i-ayos ang mga dala dala nilang dessert sa plato.
"May banana milk pa ako dito," I said when I checked my fridge.
"I brought some," I heard him answered habang nag-aayos na ng mga plato.
"How'd you know paubos na sa akin?" I chuckled lightly.
"I didn't," I heard him answered quietly, napangiti na lang ako at tinulungan siya para mapabilis na.
We then took out the banana milk he bought and then put them on the fridge para lumamig tapos nilabas ko na lang ang mga nasa akin.
"You good? How's work?" I asked as I watched him put a straw on the banana milk.
"I missed you," napailing ako at natawa ng mahina.
"Just saying the truth,"
"I know, but how's work?"
