Kingdom of Louria

Jin-Hark, Jin Hark Castle

Skarm, Zephyrion, and Patagene had to deliver the results of the news to the King. None of them were looking forward to this. If Vice Admiral Sharkuns report was accurate then the naval war is all but lost. They all entered the audience room and kneeled before Hark. After a uncomfortable moment of silence Patagene eventually spoke

"Your Majesty, we have received a report from Vice Admiral Sharkun." Patagene started.

"Oh, have we destroyed Maihark already?" King Hark Interrupted.

"... No. The Great Fleet was defeated and surrendered late yesterday." Patagene finished. Everyone could feel the calm before the guaranteed storm.

"WHAT! How can that be! I was assured that this operation would be a guaranteed victory with that large of a fleet!" Hark was beyond furious, he was fully enraged.

"The nation they lost to was not the Principality. It was a country I've never heard of, the Viridian Empire." Patagene commented.

"Viridian Empire? That sounds vaguely familiar." Hark pondered.

"They came to establish diplomatic relations about four months ago your Majesty. We turned them away on account that they had friendly relations with Qua-Toyne and Quila." Skarm revealed.

"Hmm it seems that they'll be a problem. How many ships was the Viridian fleet?"

"According to the report it was a fleet of about 15 giant metal ships but he suspected that there were most likely more. It was specified that only one of the ships fired their cannons though and that it took out one hundred and six ships in one volley." Skarm continued.

"That can't be, the vice admiral must be lying in order to cover his own incompetence. These claims are simply crazy." Hark dismissed.

"He also claimed that homing light arrows reminiscent of the ASE killed all the wyverns we sent." Skarm finished.

"Your Majesty, while it does sound ridiculous we must not take the Viridian Empire lightly. Regardless of how they did it they indeed defeated the Greet Fleet and the three hundred fifty wyverns we sent to support them." Patagene warned.

"That is true, draw up new plans and keep up the pressure on the nobles for their armies. This will now be a purely land based war now. Even if the Viridians were able to send a fleet here there's no way they could have known about this invasion. Thus they don't have ground troops or equipment in Qua-Toyne yet." Hark ordered.

"That is an excellent strategy my lord." It still doesn't address the naval or air problem but it was better than his usual decrees, thought Patagene.

"My lord there is one last thing that warrants discussion from that report." Chimed Zephyrion.

"What might that be?" Huffed Hark.

"The Viridian fleet had carriers much like the ones Parapaldia has but instead of wyverns they had giant birds and colorful flying magic monsters. They displayed extraordinary magics that are, according to the report and my own belief, vastly superior to wyverns. I believe that those creatures may pose a significant threat to the kingdom. Therefore I recommend pulling all wyverns not participating on the front line to be recalled here to the capital." Zephyrion explained.

"That is indeed a minor worry but I do agree with the wyvern recall. Most of our wyverns were foolishly lost at the naval battle anyway."

With that the trio of advisors excused themselves and set off to try to implement anything and everything to win the war.
