CH22 Darius Strikes Back

Gaharan shore

Viridian 7th Fleet

"The last surrender warning has been given sir, it was rejected."

"Good, it'd be boring if they just rolled over. Captain, order a general shelling of any military facility you can reach from here, then launch a full salvo into any statue or symbol of their faith that isn't a place of worship!" Darian ordered.

"Yes sir! You heard him men blast any and all targets that meet that criteria!" Barked the captain.

Soon shells and machine gun fire rained down all over the island decimating 55% of the Gaharan military. Statues and shrines all across the island were blasted apart from the powerful shells of the Viridian Navy.

Takamagahara

Kikatomi Grand Mosque

"Your holiness, the Viridians are back and they're shelling the whole island." Reported a panicked priest.

"Have our mages shield the mosques and the city, we must save our people and personnel if we hope to have a chance! If those heathens want a war then they'll have one." Rabbi Minakanushi ordered.

All across the city defensive barriers were cast and the shelling became less and less effective. Seeing this Darian then ordered that the ground invasion start. Due to the heavy shelling the landing went very well for the Viridian soldiers and grunts. They easily secured the beach head and captured the village that led up to the capital. Minutes before Darius and his forces were about to disembark to take the capital s report from the fleet came in.

Takamagahara outskirts

"Commander, the Gaharans have their remaining wind dragons guarding the capital. It will take some time to clear them out since we can't use our helicopters and it will take a minute for our flying pokemon to make it there. What would you like to do?"

"No support is needed, we have Executive Agents with us and I have a plan."

"Roger that sir. We will continue to lightly shell the city and patrol the waters, no one will escape."

Darius then turned back to his battalion of troops. "Okay everyone, mount up, it's time to go." He then turned to the Executive Agents. "Alright, how many Pellipper, Luxray and Galvantula do y'all have?"

Kikatomi Grand Mosque

Under heavy guard in the main hall the rabbi and his military leaders looked over a magical map of the city.

"What are our options?" Minakanushi asked.

"Well sir, unfortunately the navy is completely destroyed and our army is practically devastated. The only thing that survived their cannons mostly intact were the Wind Dragons and the Wyvern Corps." High Crusader Lucian reported. "However, I still believe in our victory. Their weapons are very powerful but surely it is only because they are powered by the creatures they enslaved. Shameful as it may be, we must wait out and defend against their attacks and wait for the poor creatures to tire enough where even those savages will be forced to let them rest. When that happens we can launch a counter attack and free as many of the pokemon as we can. Together with the power of the pokemon is the only way we will be able to win."

Minakanushi looked up at the ceiling solemnly. "I must agree with you High Crusader, as painful as it is, it appears to be our only way to victory. My orders are these, defend the holy city of Takamagahara at all costs until the time is right! No matter how far back we are pushed we will be the ones to achieve glory in this great struggle!"
