CH5 Meeting the Boss

Viridian Empire

Kanto region, Vermillion City

The Qua-Toynians had an early breakfast in order to make the journey to Viridian City. This would be their first official meeting with the emperor. After breakfast the delegation met in the lobby of the hotel.

"Are you all ready?" Matara asked.

"This will probably be the most important negotiations we ever have so I suppose so. I do find it strange that there isn't too much etiquette for a meeting with the emperor. Even the rules they do have are wildly different." Kuatan replied

"Yeah, like no asking to speak unless you're interrupting." added Naryn.

"I know we can't but I would love to see what kind of pokemon he has. From what I gathered you must be able to rule the country and Team Rocket well but also be the strongest trainer in the land." Aolis speculated. " he must have some awesomely powerful pokemon under his control."

"If you all are ready it's time to go." Darius announced.

Soon the delegation was on the way to Viridian City.

Kanto region, Viridian City Rocket Castle (renovated Viridian City Gym)

Once they arrived and had gone sightseeing and touring they retired for the day. It was just the prelude to the meeting and was meant as a brake. The next day was the fateful day where they would meet the Viridian emperor. Walking into the dark yet flash castle fully allowed the weight of the pressure to be exerted on them. They were eventually led into a large room with a barely raised ceiling and all black and red furniture and decorations. There sitting in back behind the black wooden desk was a man in a solid black suit and white shirt. Strangely he had no other accessories besides a red R sewed into his suit when the left breast pocket should be.

"Emperor, these are the head members of the Qua-Toyne delegation." Darious announced.

"Ah good work Darius, you can go now." Giovanni ordered. He then sat in his chair to be the perfect amount of imposing but now out right sinister.

"I am Emperor Giovanni Gravulum l, current head of the Viridian Empire and Boss of Team Rocket."

"I am the lead diplomat Matara and this is my negotiating partner. The men behind me are our fellow delegation members, Defence Minister Naryn and Magic Minister Aolis." Matara reciprocated.

"My name is Kuatan sir, it's a pleasure." Kuatan continued.

"I trust your stay in my country has been good?" Giovanni prodded.

"Indeed it has, sir, it has been equal parts educational as it has been eye opening." Matara responded.

"Good, now I understand that Executive Kingston has created many agreements with your country in my stead. So I assume you are here to discuss something that has far reaching consequences for the both of us." Giovanni pressed.

"That is correct sir, while Mr. Kingston has already set up deep connections with our country, we would like to go further. To do that, we wanted to get the best grasp of what kind of nation Viridia was and we wanted to talk with you personally, hence our sending of a delegation." Matara explained. This was quite risky for a diplomat. Being unconventionally transparent was only usually for times of great desperation or the closest of allies. But to gain an early and therefore high position in Viridia's inevitable sphere of influence he needed them to trust him and, more importantly, the Qua-Toyne Principality as a whole. While he already had the Prime Ministers and Ortis Palace's approval it still felt terrifying to lay his countries motives out for others to freely see and interpret.
