Giovanni and his team have finally tracked down the Legendary Pokemon Mew. After nearly a decade of intense research and surveillance Team Rocket will finally capture the ever evasive pokemon.

" All capture rods are in place Boss." reported a grunt. " Expected arrival time is 1 minute and counting."

Giovanni grinned at that and moved to get a better view of the capture area. Not only did he conquer Kanto and Johto a mere 20 years ago but now he would have the awesome power of Mew at his disposal. " Good, begin all necessary backup preparations. I will not have this one chance slip by us. This is the crucial first step of complete world domination."

In the distance Thunderbolts, Hyper Beams, and Ice Beams stream past the small pink pokemon. Mew zipped and swerved while launching its own aura spheres back. Giovanni watched on with anticipation while petting his Persian. Soon Mew was pushed into the trapped area and the trap activated.

"Now!" Yelled Yarl Tank the Grunt Chief. The operator flipped the power switch and the rods activated. Long pale yellow beams of light streamed toward Mew. Mew reacted immediately by forming a psychic shield around itself.

" Energy supply is stable sir and the subject is being drained at predicted rate." reported the Operator. It seemed that everything was going according to plan. Suddenly the system started to flash red. " Sir Mew is behaving oddly, it's releasing unprecedented amounts of energy! If this keeps up, the energy core will overload and explode!"

"WHAT, HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!" Yarl yelled back. Their best scientists assured them the power supply could handle anything.

"I don't know but we have to stop the operation now!" the Operator pleaded.

"Alright shut it down then." Yarl said while heading over to Giovanni. "Boss, we have a problem."

"What is it? Can our backup plans not handle it?" Giovanni asked, annoyed.

"Well sir, Mew is pouring out massive amounts of psychic energy that could destroy everything in the area. We may need to evacuate and retract it." Yarl said. Just as Giovanni was about to express his anger, new alarms started blaring and Mew itself started glowing bright violet. "Boss, we need to get out of here now!" Yarl exclaimed in a panic, and hurried Giovanni out of the facility. "Evac squad cover us!"

A team of 6 grunts ran over and threw out 6 Gravelers. "Go Graveler, use rockslide!" the Grunts commanded in unison. Huge boulders were summoned and then whet flying at the now glowing Mew. But just before they hit they all froze midair. Mew cried out and the rocks were shot back at the grunts and their pokemon. Realizing they were severely outmatched they retreated, electing to focus on covering the Boss' escape. They used rockslide again to block the entrance to the escape tunnel after they went through.

After running through the escape tunnel Yarl and Giovanni made it to the helicopter. "Get us back to HQ as fast as possible!" Giovanni yelled to the pilots. They soon took off and headed for the Team Rocket Headquarters in Celadon. But when they were halfway there everything turned white.

After they landed Giovanni got straight to work to find out what happened. "I want a full report on what just happened and how!" He shouted to his room of aides. "And get everyone here for a meeting!"

Fifteen minutes later the full Rocket Council and other Team Rocket leaders were assembled. The meeting included;
