Tunde sank into the plush couch, flipping through channels with Sam, who was sprawled on the other side of the sofa. They finally settled on watching Supacell, the latest sci-fi drama that had everyone talking. The dim glow from the TV cast shadows across the room, but Tunde's mind kept drifting away from the screen. The flashback of the unfinished romance he had with Adaora kept replaying into his head. But for now, he allowed himself to be pulled into the world of superheroes and villains, even if just as a temporary distraction.

Sam, munching on some leftover snacks, broke the silence, "You think you could handle having superpowers, Sir?"

Tunde smirked, "Depends on the power. Might be nice to fly away from all this drama sometimes."

Sam chuckled, nodding in agreement.

Meanwhile, Adeola sat at the dining table, slowly savoring the spaghetti. She twirled the fork in her fingers, taking a small bite and letting the flavors linger on her tongue. It was delicious-too delicious. She chewed thoughtfully, her mind racing as she tried to figure out who had prepared the meal. Was it Adaora or Tunde? Both of them were in the kitchen earlier, and although Tunde was the last person she'd expect to cook, the thought made her heart flutter. The rich taste of the meal was unlike anything Tunde could cook, adding to her growing curiosity.

Finally, unable to resist, Adeola spoke up, her voice slicing through the quiet dining room. "This spaghetti... it's really good. Tunde, did you cook this?"

From the living room, Tunde turned slightly to glance at her, his expression unreadable. "Yeah, I made it," he replied nonchalantly, turning his attention back to the TV.

Adeola's eyebrows shot up in surprise, a smile spreading across her face. "Wow, Tunde, I didn't know you could cook like this! You should make something for me one day," she said, her tone light and teasing, hoping to draw him into a more personal conversation.

Tunde only offered a faint smile in response, not saying a word. His focus remained on the TV, but Adeola could see the subtle curve of his lips. He wasn't going to engage further, and she sensed it. She continued eating, every bite more enjoyable now that she knew who had made it, but the silence between them was both comforting and unsettling.

The moment was interrupted by the ringing of Adeola's phone. Startled, she quickly swallowed her last bite and checked the screen. It was a WhatsApp video call from her parents. Excited yet a little nervous, she answered the call, her smile brightening as her parents' faces filled the screen.

"Hello, Mum, Dad!" Adeola greeted them warmly.

Her parents beamed back at her from the other side, the usual warmth and affection evident in their voices. "Adeola, my dear! How are you?" her mother asked, her tone full of concern and love.

As she spoke with her parents, Tunde and Sam continued watching TV, occasionally glancing at Adeola's animated expressions. Her father's deep voice boomed through the phone, "Adeola, where's Tunde? Let me talk to him."

Adeola felt a jolt of surprise but quickly composed herself. "Sure, Dad, one moment." She got up from the dining table, holding the phone carefully as she approached Tunde.

"Tunde," she called softly, "my parents want to speak with you."

Tunde blinked, slightly caught off guard, but he quickly masked his surprise. He took the phone from Adeola with a polite nod and greeted her father with respect. "Good evening, sir," Tunde said, his tone steady and respectful.

Adeola's father smiled warmly. "Ah, Tunde! It's good to see you. How are you doing?"

"I'm doing well, sir. Thank you," Tunde replied, remembering the man from high school days, when he and Adeola were just classmates.
