At the airport, Tunde took a moment to savor the meal Adeola had lovingly packed for him. He could practically feel her care in every bite, adding a bit of warmth to the busy day ahead. Soon, he was en route to Abuja, where his meeting was set to be a landmark for his company. Confident and self-assured, Tunde commanded the room with ease, his decisions carrying weight and authority. In a pivotal moment, he introduced his plan to merge his father's company, Zenith Digitals, with his own Spark Technologies, asserting that the combined force would strengthen their standing. Some board members voiced their hesitations, but Tunde, unwavering, made it clear that his word was final. Meanwhile, back at Spark Technologies, Adeola confidently handled her responsibilities, presenting Tunde's vision and mission with precision and poise, ensuring the groundwork for the merger was understood and accepted.
Back at Paystack, Bam Bam was settling into her new role as Chidi's personal assistant, her belongings already moved into his office. In the coffee room, she leaned toward Adaora with a mischievous grin. "No worry, Adaora! Na me go show that Hannah pepper for you," she declared in pidgin, her tone playful but determined. Adaora chuckled, cautioning her to keep things easy, though secretly relieved at Bam Bam's loyalty.
When Chidi finally arrived, Bam Bam couldn't hide her excitement—this was her chance to spend time with him, alone and uninterrupted. But before she could make her move, Hannah intercepted Chidi. Without waiting for a greeting, she launched into criticism, insisting that his lack of involvement was costing the company. Bam Bam watched in frustration as Hannah whisked Chidi off to her office, where they stayed for hours. Her irritation grew as she saw her chances of a private chat slipping away.
A few hours later, a company-wide meeting was announced by Hannah, who summoned the software development and UX teams with a sharp, "I want everyone in the boardroom in five minutes!" Walking down the hall, an employee muttered sarcastically, "See her mouth, like five minutes." Another chimed in, "If she becomes CEO, we're all in trouble!" A third joked, "This one's already running the place!" Their banter lightened the tense atmosphere.
Meanwhile, Adaora was about to leave her office when Chidi appeared, catching her off guard with a deep, unexpected kiss. She tried to pull away, giggling, "Chidi! I'm headed to the meeting." But he followed her to the elevator, where, in the presence of a few other colleagues, he mischievously slid his hand beneath her jacket. Adaora's gown exposed her back slightly, and Chidi's fingers found their way to her bra strap, gently teasing her in a way only she could notice. She bit her lip to hide a smile as the elevator arrived, Chidi quickly pulling his hand away just in time.
As they entered the boardroom, the atmosphere shifted when Chidi, the CEO, took his seat, much to everyone's surprise. Hannah barely acknowledged him, choosing instead to focus on Adaora. "Why are you late?" she demanded. Adaora hesitated, stammering, "I... I was just checking on something before..." Hannah cut her off with a cold look, ignoring the murmurs in the room, and instructed everyone to sit as she launched into a presentation on an ambitious project she believed could secure them an award.
Back in Abuja, Tunde wrapped up his meetings with the same confidence he had arrived with. He called Adeola, thanking her for the food. "It made my morning," he said warmly. She laughed, asking if he'd be back in Lagos by evening. "Let me enjoy Abuja a bit longer," he teased. Adeola pondered aloud whether she should surprise him by visiting the city, a plan that began to settle comfortably in her mind.
