Adaora, a brilliant yet self-doubting programmer from Ifo, Nigeria, faces the harsh realities of life when her mother falls ill. Armed with exceptional tech skills but struggling with low self-esteem, she ventures to a city in Lagos seeking for job...
Adaora had lost count of how many times she'd tried to reach out to Chidi Okoye. The gnawing guilt weighed heavily on her, but every attempt to apologize was met with silence. Now that Chidi had been reinstalled as CEO of Paystack, it felt impossible to get through. The reinstatement came as a shock to everyone when Mr. Okoye, Chidi's father, exposed Mrs. Abosede's secret meetings with a rival company. In a swift move, the board fired her, and Chidi was back, not only with more power but also with a colder demeanor. He was untouchable.
Bam Bam had heard everything, including how Adaora accused Chidi of being behind Tunde's case. She wasn't thrilled. "Adaora, what were you thinking?" Bam Bam's voice held a mix of frustration and concern as she confronted her during break time. "Do you have any idea what you've done?"
"It wasn't on purpose, Bam Bam. I just... I just thought-"
"Well, you thought wrong!" Bam Bam interrupted sharply. "Chidi isn't that kind of person. He's never been."
Adaora looked down, feeling the weight of her mistake once again. "I don't know what to do. I'm not even sure how to approach him anymore. What do you think I should do?"
Bam Bam sighed and softened her tone. "Look, I'll figure something out. But let me just ask you this-you're not going to run back to Tunde, are you?" Bam Bam's eyes narrowed, scrutinizing her friend's response.
Adaora sighed deeply but said nothing. Her silence was enough for Bam Bam to understand the dilemma tearing her apart. There was no easy way out.
"Break's over. We better get back," Bam Bam said, though her mind was already formulating a plan. Adaora quietly nodded and headed back to her office, though her thoughts remained turbulent.

After a few hours of thinking, Bam Bam had made her decision. She would talk to Chidi, one-on-one. Adaora was too emotionally entangled in the situation, and if anyone could smooth things over, it had to be her.
With a deep breath, she found herself standing outside Chidi's office door, her hand hovering in the air before she knocked. Nervousness gripped her, an unusual feeling for someone as composed as Bam Bam. But then again, this wasn't an ordinary meeting. She had never approached Chidi for anything personal before. She'd heard about his 'cold boss' reputation and wasn't sure how he'd take this.
No response.
She hesitated, but then gently pushed open the door. "Chidi, can I-" Her words froze in her throat. What she saw inside was the last thing she expected. Tolani, one of the most beautiful and distant colleagues at Paystack, was just adjusting her skirt, coming out of Chidi's private restroom. And there was Chidi-shirtless, his toned chest and chiseled abs on full display as he casually followed her out, wiping his face with a towel.
Bam Bam's eyes widened in shock. She felt like she had walked into a scene she wasn't supposed to see. Tolani didn't even acknowledge Bam Bam's presence as she strutted out of the office, her head held high.
