In the heart of Lagos, Mr. Okoye, Chidi's father, arranged a discreet meeting with the key investors of Spark Technologies. His goal was to convince them to sell their shares before the company’s value plummeted further. Mr. Okoye knew that if he could get the majority of the shareholders on his side, it would leave Tunde with no choice but to relinquish control. His charm and persuasive arguments were difficult to resist, especially when he framed it as an opportunity to cut their losses and make a decent profit.
"Your loyalty to Tunde is admirable," Mr. Okoye began, his tone smooth, "but loyalty doesn’t pay the bills. I’m offering you a way out—a chance to secure your investment before the ship sinks."
The investors exchanged uneasy glances, weighing their options as Mr. Okoye continued to apply subtle pressure, ensuring they understood that this might be their only chance to salvage their investment.
Meanwhile, in Singapore, Tunde finally confided in Adaora about the dire situation Spark Technologies was facing. They were seated in a quiet corner of the hotel café, the atmosphere heavy with the weight of his words. Adaora listened intently, her concern growing with every detail he shared.
"I never wanted you to worry about this," Tunde admitted, his voice laced with frustration. "But Spark Technologies is on the brink of collapse, and I’m running out of options."
Adaora’s heart ached for him. She could see the toll this was taking on Tunde, the man she loved. "Tunde, have you thought about reaching out to your stepmom? She has the resources to help, and maybe she would... if you explained the situation."
Tunde shook his head. "She won’t help unless I play by her rules, and you know I can’t stand being controlled."
Adaora took his hand, squeezing it gently. "Maybe... you don’t have to play by her rules. What if you pretended to go along with what she wants, just long enough to secure her support? It’s still your father’s fortune she’s using, right? You have every right to use it to save your company."
Tunde stared at her, considering the idea. It was risky, but Adaora was right. He couldn’t let his pride get in the way of saving Spark Technologies. "You might be onto something," he said finally, a glimmer of hope returning to his eyes.

Later that day, Chidi paced his hotel room, deep in thought. The more he reflected on the situation, the more he realized that staying in Singapore was giving Adaora and Tunde the space they needed to reconcile. This was unacceptable. Chidi knew he couldn’t afford to lose Adaora to Tunde.
Without hesitation, he called Adaora. "Adaora, I’ve been thinking... We’ve done everything we needed to here. I think it’s best if we head back to Lagos tomorrow. We can handle any follow-ups from there."
Adaora was slightly taken aback by the sudden change in plans, but she understood. "Alright, Chidi. If you think that’s best."
Chidi’s decision was not just about business; it was about keeping Tunde and Adaora apart.
Determined to follow Adaora’s advice, Tunde finally called his stepmom. The conversation was awkward from the start, with Tunde struggling to hide his frustration. His stepmom, as always, was cool and distant, but she was intrigued by his sudden interest in reconnecting.
"It’s been a while, Tunde," she said, her tone icy. "To what do I owe this... unexpected call?"
"I wanted to talk about Spark Technologies," Tunde began, trying to keep his tone neutral.
"Oh? I’ve heard the company’s doing well," she replied casually, clearly unaware of the current crisis.
"Yeah exactly," Tunde admitted. "That’s why I wanted to meet for a partnership... I thought maybe we could discuss how you might be able to help."
There was a brief silence before she responded. "I see. Well, it just so happens that I’m in Singapore at the moment. Perhaps we could meet when I'm back at lagos?"
Tunde’s heart skipped a beat. "You’re in Singapore?"
"Yes, I arrived a few days ago. I have some business to attend to here. We can meet when I'm back."
"I'm also in Singapore, we can meet tomorrow" Tunde proposed, realizing that this meeting could either save Spark Technologies or seal its fate. He had no choice but to put his straight ways aside and play dirty.
