From the depth
of the deep dark place
I resided here for years
with a broken heart
I cried so much
and slowly
Too my mind started
to fall apart
And suddenly a light
seeped through
a bright twinkling
just up ahead
a piece of my heart
I ran to it
no hesitation, at full speed
I had to get to you
It wasn't a want
It was a need
My first piece
The one I cherish most
My heart felt complete
Because I needed you desperately
You gave me hope
the biggest piece
No one can replace
None can take
This love I have for you
With my newfound strength
I began to move forward
with you as my light
I could never get lost
And one by one
My other pieces were found
all of them different
but equally important
Each was a journey
a lesson to learn
Each piece needed
and slowly my heart
was becoming complete
After walking along
For some time
I was content
With the pieces I had
My last piece was nowhere near
Completely out of sight
And just as suddenly as the first
My last piece appeared
My journey was over
A sigh of relief
I never thought I'd see this day
But something happened
Something I didn't foresee
the worst thing I feared
was happening to me
My last piece rejected me…
