Have you ever gazed upon perfection
Immediate love
And eyes that may hold deception
A gift from up above
When I think of that word
I don't think of my reflection
I am not magnolia
That I may have that immense attraction
Everything I am not
Magnolia is her
I resonate deeply
Just like Laufey's words
My existence
Is not like hers
When you think of perfection
You think of her.
My voice is no longer
A source of comfort
Or perhaps it never was
I never had a chance
To see if it does
In the time to harvest
My hard spent work
The ripe orchard
ready to burst
Was empty
By the time I arrived
Someone had got there first
And the fruits of my labour
Was it ever mine?
Perfection sleeps effortlessly
Says perfect words
Perfects eyes
Perfect smile
Perfect pick of the world
Sweet perfect words roll off her lips
Like honey
It slowly drips
Such infectious sweetness
Perfect without reason
Star filled eyes
An angel in disguise
Everything I'm not
Even myself, I despise.
Everything she desires
Is hers with a single word
Men to their knees
Spontaneous butterflies
And with me I don't know where I stand
How does one compete
With perfection itself
Gods word complete
Always too much
Or too little, never enough
Perfection thrives
And all imperfection fades
And does.
Perfection she is
Everything I'm not
What's the point
So I've decided to just stop
Reaching for the stars
Running this race
Changing my body
Or my face
When I look at my reflection
Perfection is in my place
I have no value of my own
A bud in a trees shadow
Pretending to be grown
