Chapter 11: The Curious Conversation

As the morning dawned, golden sunlight streamed through the windows of the Kim household, casting a warm glow that illuminated the cozy bedroom shared by J-Hope and Suga. Suga emerged from the washroom, feeling refreshed after a thorough wash and grooming, dressed for another day at the office. He glanced at J-Hope, who was already fully dressed, his vibrant attire reflecting his lively personality.

Suga felt a wave of curiosity wash over him. Why hadn’t J-Hope left for breakfast yet? Usually, J-Hope was quick to head downstairs, but today he seemed to be lingering, a bright spark of excitement lighting up his eyes. Suddenly, Suga remembered their conversation from the night before about babies, and a wave of anxiety washed over him. He knew he would have to face it sooner or later.

“Okay, what’s going on?” Suga asked, trying to mask his concern with a playful tone. He hoped to deflect the conversation, perhaps coming up with an excuse to avoid it altogether. But before he could think of anything, J-Hope bounded over, practically vibrating with excitement.

“You know! You know what I found out?” J-Hope exclaimed, his voice bubbling over with enthusiasm. “I found out how a baby is made!”

Just then, unbeknownst to them, Jungkook and Taehyung were tiptoeing down the hallway, their expressions a mix of determination and mischief. They had been dealing with some issues of their own—mostly revolving around Jungkook’s latest prank gone wrong—and thought that Suga might have the wisdom to help them navigate it. But as they approached the door, they overheard J-Hope’s excited proclamation.

“What did he say?” Taehyung whispered, glancing at Jungkook with wide eyes, his curiosity piqued. They instinctively paused outside the door, intrigued by the impending revelation.

Meanwhile, Suga felt his heart race, panic swirling in his chest. “You found out how a baby is made?” he repeated, disbelief coloring his tone.

“Yeah!” J-Hope responded, practically bouncing on his feet. “Look, I’ll show you!” He then picked up two flowers from the vase on the dresser, rubbed them together, and announced triumphantly, “Look! Now a baby will come to our home!”

Suga stared at J-Hope, his disbelief palpable. “What? Wait, wait, wait! From where did you get that idea?” He felt a mixture of concern and amusement at his husband’s adorable innocence.

“I remember! I watched this Indian movie,” J-Hope explained, his eyes shining with excitement. “In the movie, after a romantic song, two flowers came together, and then a baby appeared in the household!”

Suga couldn’t hold back his laughter any longer. The sheer absurdity of J-Hope’s logic had him in stitches, his laughter ringing through the room. Outside, Jungkook and Taehyung, overhearing the hilarious exchange, doubled over in laughter as well. Unable to contain themselves, they both turned and ran towards the living room, cackling like children who had just discovered a treasure trove of giggles.

In the living room, Mrs. Kim, Mr. Kim, and Namjoon were sitting together, Mrs Kim compelling namjoon to get married before he turns old.Suddenly, the sound of their younger brothers' laughter caught their attention.

“What happened? Why are you two laughing like that?” Mrs. Kim asked, a quizzical look crossing her face.

Jungkook and Taehyung, still gasping for breath, attempted to compose themselves. “Mom, we’re going to the university! Very important work!” Jungkook managed to say between fits of laughter.

“Yeah, important work,” Taehyung echoed, trying to suppress his giggles. They shot each other a knowing glance, both planning to tease their older brother and J-Hope later.

As they dashed out of the house, Mrs. Kim and Mr. Kim exchanged glances, wondering what could have possibly happened and namjoon assumed that his younger brothers finally lost the last two brain cells of their minds.

Back in the bedroom, Suga finally calmed down, wiping tears of laughter from his eyes. He looked at J-Hope, who was still standing there with a bewildered expression on his face. “You really thought that rubbing flowers together would lead to a baby?” Suga asked, chuckling softly.

“Yes!” J-Hope insisted, his eyes wide with earnestness. “And you have a beautiful kitten-like gummy smile!”

Suga’s face transformed into a mask of playful indignation. “What? Do I look like a kitten?” he retorted, crossing his arms.

“Honestly? You do!” J-Hope replied with a cheeky grin.

Suga couldn’t help but smile at his husband’s unabashed affection, but he also felt the need to set some boundaries. “Okay, but listen, you can’t talk about this baby-making process with anyone else other than me, okay? It’s just between us.”

J-Hope nodded eagerly. “Of course! But now, how long will it take for us to get a baby? I’ve already rubbed the flowers together, right?”

Suga, exhausted from the innocent barrage of questions, ran a hand through his hair and sighed, a smile creeping onto his lips. “It will take a long time, don’t worry,” he said, trying to sound serious. “But the baby will come. Don’t worry, don’t worry.”

“Okay!” J-Hope beamed, clearly content with Suga’s answer.

The two of them made their way downstairs for breakfast, J-Hope’s spirit still high from the excitement of their morning conversation. As they joined the family at the table, the earlier laughter lingered in the air, and the day ahead promised to be filled with more amusing encounters and heartfelt moments.

Suga stole a glance at J-Hope, his heart full of affection for his husband. Their journey together was just beginning, and with each laugh, they were building a foundation of love that would carry them through anything that lay ahead.
