Chapter 15: The Unexpected Twist
The pulsating beats of music and laughter filled the air inside the club as Jimin, still feeling the thrill of the night, finally spotted his puppy safe and sound. A wave of relief washed over him, and he thought it was time to rehydrate. He wandered over to Jungkook, who was holding a drink, and without hesitation, he snatched the glass from his hand and downed the entire contents in one gulp. The moment the liquid hit his tongue, his face contorted into a series of exaggerated grimaces. “What is this water? It’s so sour!” he exclaimed, scrunching his nose as he stuck out his tongue.
Taehyung and Jungkook exchanged wide-eyed glances, the realization hitting them simultaneously. “Oh damn,” Jungkook whispered, a hint of panic lacing his voice. “He drank vodka!”
Feeling the effects of the alcohol, Jimin giggled, and his laughter echoed through the club as the room began to spin slightly. Taehyung, ever the protective brother, scooped up Jimin’s puppy and gently ushered the trio toward the exit, Jungkook trailing behind. Once outside, the cool night air hit them, and Jimin suddenly stopped, turning around with a serious expression on his face.
“What are you doing here, hubbies?” he slurred, his voice dripping with mock seriousness. “Are you following me? Don’t you trust your wifey?”
Taehyung and Jungkook exchanged shocked looks, their mouths hanging open in disbelief. “What?” they both echoed in unison.
Jimin looked down at his puppy, his expression shifting dramatically as he began to sob. “See, baby? Your fathers don’t love me. They don’t even trust me!” He dramatically threw his hands in the air, continuing, “Look at this life! God, what a life!”
Jungkook and Taehyung stood frozen, unsure of how to respond to the adorable but tipsy Jimin who was now tearfully lamenting his predicament. The puppy whimpered, nuzzling into Jimin's side for comfort.
Amidst the emotional outburst, Jimin suddenly ordered them, “As an apology, I want both of you to go to the market and bring me some plushies. And the one that’s cuter, I’ll forgive that husband of mine.”
Jungkook and Taehyung, though fully aware that Jimin would likely forget all this by morning, couldn’t resist his adorable whim. “Alright, alright! We’ll get you your plushies,” Taehyung promised, knowing the night was far from over.
“Just sit here with the puppy,” Jungkook instructed as they gently settled Jimin into the car, making sure he was comfortable while they ran their little errand.
Once they arrived at the mall, the brothers exchanged a look filled with determination. “Let’s go find the cutest plushie!” Jungkook declared, as they dashed into the store. The aisles were filled with stuffed animals of all shapes and sizes, and they couldn’t help but find it difficult to select a soft toy. Well! For people who had played with weapons from childhood, it can be challenging.
After much deliberation and several giggles over the absurdity of shopping for stuffed animals, Jungkook picked out a baby bunny plushie, its long ears drooping cutely. Taehyung, meanwhile, found a fluffy baby chick, its yellow feathers soft and inviting.
“Jimin’s going to love these,” Taehyung said, grinning as they made their way back to the car.
They returned to find Jimin dozing off in the passenger seat, his puppy nestled in his lap. Gently, they placed the plushies beside him, and he stirred, blinking sleepily at the sight of his new friends. A warm smile spread across his face as he reached for them, hugging both plushies tightly.
“Oh, I love them!” he squealed, planting kisses on both the bunny and the chick. He turned to Jungkook and Taehyung, pressing soft kisses on their cheeks, “Thank you, thank you! I forgive you both!”
With Jimin feeling content and slightly tipsy, Taehyung decided it was time to get him home. They drove to Jimin's house, where they carefully helped him out of the car, puppy and plushies in tow. Once they reached his front door, they waved goodbye, leaving him in the warmth of his home.
As they returned to their own home, both brothers found themselves sitting in their separate rooms, reflecting on the events of the night. The playful teasing and innocent charm of Jimin lingered in their minds. Taehyung couldn’t help but smile as he recalled the way Jimin had defended his honor with dramatic flair, while Jungkook replayed the tender kiss he received from Jimin, feeling warmth blossom in his chest.
Meanwhile, Jimin was oblivious to the effect he had on his newfound friends. He lay in bed, cuddling his puppy and the plushies, drifting into a peaceful slumber, blissfully unaware of the emotions he had stirred in both Taehyung and Jungkook.
On the other side of town, Namjoon was on his way to meet Jin, recalling the advice his older brother had given him. The weight of the decision rested heavy on his shoulders, but he was determined to follow through. With every passing moment, anticipation and anxiety twisted in his gut as he imagined how their meeting would unfold.
As the night deepened, the stage was set for the next day’s revelations and adventures. Jimin slept soundly, unaware of the intertwining destinies and emotions swirling around him, ready to unravel in unexpected ways. The bonds of friendship, love, and understanding were about to be tested in the days to come, but for now, the night was peaceful, filled with the dreams of a playful heart.
