Chapter 25 – Emotions and Apologies
Yoongi sat across from Namjoon in the private cabin, feeling a strange weight on his shoulders. He had never imagined that he would be here, seeking advice from his younger brother. But things had gotten out of hand with J-Hope, and even though he had tried everything to fix the situation, nothing had worked. This was new territory for him, dealing with emotions and relationships outside of his professional life.
Namjoon, who rarely dealt with emotions himself, sat back in his chair, arms crossed, carefully listening to Yoongi’s story. It was unusual for both of them to have a conversation like this. Typically, their discussions were about business, strategies, or their work. But today, it was different. Yoongi was here, not as the brilliant music mogul he was known to be, but as a husband, a man trying to fix something he had unintentionally broken.
Yoongi sighed deeply, recounting the events. “It was just work frustration, Namjoon. I didn’t mean to snap at him, but it happened. I made him feel like… like an object, and I regret it so much. I’ve done everything—apologized, bought him his favorite ice cream, chocolates, even sat on my knees with my ears held, but nothing’s working. Hobi’s still upset, and I don’t know what to do anymore.”
Namjoon listened intently, his face serious as he processed what Yoongi was saying. For the first time, his brother was seeking help, not with a business problem, but something deeply personal. Namjoon could see the frustration and guilt weighing down on Yoongi, and despite his usual cold demeanor, Namjoon knew that this was a matter that required sensitivity.
Leaning back in his chair, Namjoon let out a small breath. “Hyung, this sounds serious,” he said, looking directly at Yoongi. “It’s the first time I’m hearing you talk about emotions like this, and it’s clearly out of control now. To be honest, you kind of deserve a punishment for making Hobi hyung feel like that.”
Yoongi winced at the statement, knowing Namjoon was right.
“But,” Namjoon continued, “it’s gotten to the point where you need to reset everything. From what I can analyze, you should apologize again, but this time, you need to approach it differently. Something tells me that if you do it right, he’ll melt.”
Yoongi blinked, unsure of what Namjoon meant. “What do you mean, differently? I’ve already apologized—how else can I say sorry?”
Namjoon tilted his head slightly and raised an eyebrow. “Hyung, you’re a professional musician, the best in the world. Where does that genius go when it comes to your family? Use your music skills, Hyung.”
Yoongi frowned, still confused. “Music? What are you getting at, Namjoon?”
Namjoon smirked slightly, knowing he had hit on something. “You’re the ‘god of music,’ right? Use that talent. You’ve written songs that have made the world cry, laugh, and dance. So, why not use that to apologize to your husband?”
The idea finally clicked in Yoongi’s mind, and he blinked in realization. “You want me to write a song for him?”
Namjoon nodded, a small grin appearing on his face. “Exactly. Not just any song, though. Tomorrow is Sunday, and you’ll be alone with Hobi hyung at home. I’m going to Jin’s place after work to spend some time with him, and Mom and Dad are still out visiting their friends. Tae, Jungkook, and Jimin are all having a night out, so you and Hobi hyung will have the entire place to yourselves.”
Yoongi leaned back, listening carefully, wondering where Namjoon was going with this.
Namjoon continued, “The terrace at our house has an amazing view, especially at night. You should take advantage of that. Decorate it beautifully—candles, fairy lights, the whole thing. Make it romantic. Then, take Hobi hyung up there, and as your queen deserves to be treated, sit on your knees, hold your ears again, and apologize sincerely.”
Yoongi’s eyes widened slightly at the plan, the imagery of what Namjoon was suggesting forming in his mind. He could picture the terrace, softly lit under the moonlight, and the vulnerability he’d show by apologizing in such a heartfelt way. It made him feel a little exposed, but Namjoon’s next words broke his thoughts.
“And then,” Namjoon said, his voice taking on a teasing tone, “you sing him an apology song. Something personal, something that comes from the heart. I guarantee you, once you do that, Hobi hyung will melt. You know how much he loves music.”
Yoongi snorted, a mix of amusement and exasperation. “So you want me to serenade my husband with an apology song? You really think that’ll work?”
Namjoon smirked, crossing his arms. “Oh, I know it will. Besides, once you do that, I don’t think I need to tell you what comes next.”
Yoongi raised an eyebrow, and Namjoon’s smirk widened. “You’re a married man, Hyung. I’m sure you know what happens after a heartfelt apology. I don’t need to explain the intimate details.”
Yoongi’s face turned red, and he let out a small laugh. “Oh, shut up, Namjoon.”
Namjoon laughed too, enjoying the rare moment of banter between them. But there was something more to the conversation. Yoongi could sense it. He gave his brother a sidelong glance, a smirk of his own forming on his lips. “I have to say, Namjoon, you’re learning a lot about emotions lately. If anyone in the family found out, they’d probably worship Jin for the rest of their lives for changing you.”
At that, Namjoon’s ears turned red, and he shifted in his seat uncomfortably. “Don’t even mention Jin’s name in front of the family,” he said quickly, almost embarrassed. “I want to keep this between us for now.”
Yoongi chuckled, shaking his head. “Yeah, yeah, I know. The mighty Kim Namjoon doesn’t want anyone to know that he’s gone soft over a man. It’s fine. Your secret’s safe with me.”
Namjoon, grateful for Yoongi’s discretion, leaned back again and relaxed. “Just make sure you take my advice, Hyung. Trust me, it’ll work.”
Yoongi stood up, feeling a new sense of confidence after the conversation. He was still a little unsure about the whole apology song idea, but deep down, he knew Namjoon was right. Hobi’s love for music ran deep, and if there was any way to truly get through to him, it was through the thing that connected them both—music.
As Yoongi made his way to the door, he turned back to Namjoon and nodded. “Thanks, Joon. I didn’t expect to get emotional advice from you, but… I think this might actually work.”
Namjoon smirked, giving a casual wave. “Hey, if it does, you owe me. Big time.”
Yoongi laughed as he left the office, the tension finally lifting from his chest. Tomorrow, he would set everything right. Tomorrow, he would show J-Hope just how much he meant to him—through the one thing they both loved more than anything: music.
