Chapter 49: The Unforgettable Wedding Day
The sun rose on the day that would forever change the lives of Kim Namjoon and Kim Seokjin. As the first rays of light seeped through the curtains, Jin stirred awake in his room, a peaceful expression on his face. However, as he opened his eyes, the events of the previous day felt like a distant memory. He had completely forgotten about the conversation he and Namjoon had in the library, especially the peculiar condition he had set for their marriage—a “forced marriage.”
Unbeknownst to Jin, his brother in laws were already plotting a scheme of their own. Kim Taehyung and Kim Jungkook burst into Jin’s room, their expressions filled with mischief.
“Jin! You won’t believe what Namjoon hyung has done!” Tae exclaimed, barely able to contain his laughter.
“What is it?” Jin asked, still groggy from sleep.
“He kidnapped Grandma!” Jungkook chimed in, trying to hold back a fit of giggles.
Jin’s eyes widened in shock. “What?! Take me to him!” Panic surged through him, as he couldn’t comprehend why Namjoon would do something so cruel.
Tae and Jungkook exchanged glances, feigning seriousness. “Well, you’re getting married to him today, remember?” they said in unison.
“Wait, what?” Jin stammered. “I’m not getting married today! Why would I marry someone who kidnapped my grandma?” His heart raced as he rushed down the stairs, determination and fear coursing through him.
As he reached the main hall, he spotted Namjoon, who was in the middle of a phone call. His demeanor was stern, and the glass he held shattered in his grip, splattering shards across the floor. Jin flinched; this was the first time he had witnessed Namjoon’s anger.
Without thinking twice, Jin turned on his heel to run, but Namjoon had other plans. He let Jin go, confident he wouldn’t get far. Jin darted out of the mansion, finding himself in an isolated area, far from the comfort of his home.
Suddenly, he heard the roar of engines. Two cars approached from one side, and two from the other, enclosing him. A helicopter hovered above, and from it, Namjoon emerged, dressed in a sharp black suit, exuding an intimidating presence. Jin’s heart sank as he faced Namjoon.
“Why did you kidnap my grandma? You’re scary! You’re dangerous!” Jin cried, tears brimming in his eyes.
Namjoon’s voice was cold and unwavering. “Get married to me if you want your grandma to be safe,” he commanded, his expression unreadable.
“No! I won’t marry you! You’re a monster!” Jin protested, his voice shaking.
Namjoon smirked slightly, believing Jin was simply putting on a show as part of their forced marriage act. But Jin was genuinely terrified and overwhelmed.
A black car pulled up beside them. “In that car is your grandmother,” Namjoon said, his tone darkening. “If you don’t agree to marry me in three seconds, I will blow it up.”
Jin’s eyes widened in horror. “No! Don’t hurt her!” he cried.
Namjoon began counting down. “Three… Two…”
With each number, Jin felt his heart race. “Okay, okay! I’ll marry you!” he shouted, panic flooding his voice.
But before the last count, the car exploded, sending a shockwave through Jin. He fell into Namjoon’s arms, trembling.
“This is the last time I’m asking,” Namjoon reiterated, his voice low and intense. “Marry me, or I will make your grandmother suffer.”
Faced with a choice he never wanted, Jin’s mind spiraled. Despite the love he felt for Namjoon, he was terrified of the man standing before him. But it was clear—his grandma’s safety was at stake.
“I… I’ll do it,” Jin stammered, tears streaming down his cheeks.
As the world watched through hidden cameras and drones, Jin’s family gasped at the extent of Namjoon’s desperation. Jackson, watching the scene unfold, remarked, “If Jin hadn’t agreed willingly, this forced marriage would have been all too real. The obsession this mafia king has over him is chilling.”
With Jin reluctantly agreeing to the marriage, Namjoon swept him away toward the church. The ceremony proceeded, with Jin still shaken but swept along by the momentum of the day.
“I do,” they both said in unison, but Jin’s voice trembled.
Namjoon, noticing Jin’s hands shaking, leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to his knuckles, a stark contrast to the chaos of the day.
After exchanging vows and receiving blessings from their families, they returned to the Kim mansion. However, Jin was still reeling from the events of the day. He wandered onto the balcony, seeking solace in the evening air.
Namjoon followed, wrapping his arms around Jin from behind. “How was my act?” he asked playfully, trying to lighten the mood.
“What act?” Jin replied, genuinely confused.
It suddenly dawned on Namjoon that Jin’s memory wasn’t the best. “Yesterday, you said you wanted a forced marriage, and I delivered,” he explained, recounting the events.
Jin frowned, shaking his head. “But I’m still mad at you.”
Namjoon was taken aback. “But you wanted this!” he exclaimed, frustration bubbling beneath the surface.
“I’m scared of you! I’m not talking to you,” Jin declared defiantly.
With a heavy sigh, Namjoon leaned in, unable to hold back his emotions any longer. He captured Jin’s lips in a rough, passionate kiss, filled with the intensity of their complicated relationship. Jin’s breath caught in his throat, and when Namjoon finally pulled away, his lips were swollen and red.
Jin looked up, eyes glistening with tears. “I don’t want to talk,” he whispered.
Namjoon pulled him into an embrace, feeling the conflict within Jin. “What do you want?” he asked softly, trying to coax him out of his shell.
“I want to watch Doraemon,” Jin said, his voice childlike and innocent.
Namjoon stared at him, astonished. “This is our wedding night! What do you mean you want to watch Doraemon?” he laughed, incredulous.
But Jin’s expression was earnest, his cheeks puffed out in a pout. “I just want to watch Doraemon,” he repeated.
Despite the oddity of the situation, Namjoon found himself yielding. “Alright, we’ll watch Doraemon,” he said, chuckling at the absurdity of their wedding night plans.
As they settled down together, Namjoon reflected on how different their lives were now. The notorious mafia king, once feared and respected, found himself sharing a couch with his innocent bride, watching cartoons. He couldn’t help but wonder how the world would react if they knew the truth—that on his wedding night, he had chosen Doraemon over the traditional romantic escapade.
It was a bizarre beginning to their life together, but in that moment, love overshadowed the chaos.
And so, amidst laughter and lighthearted moments, the couple embraced the unexpected joys that lay ahead, proving that love could indeed bloom in the most unconventional of circumstances.
Their journey had only just begun, and whatever laughter, joy, or chaos awaited them, they would face it together.
