The Kim mansion was buzzing with energy as Namjoon, Jin, and the rest of the family arrived home. The chaos that always filled the house was ever-present, but today, it had a special kind of warmth. The family was finally complete, and Jin’s return added an extra layer of happiness. As they all gathered in the spacious living room, everyone was eager to hear the story that had left them all curious—how Namjoon, the feared and ruthless mafia king, had fallen in love with Jin, the delicate and beautiful soul they all adored.
Mrs. Kim was the first to break the silence, her voice dripping with curiosity as she leaned in, eyes twinkling, "So, Jin, how did you manage to tame our cold mafia king? Tell us everything!"
Jungkook, always the mischief-maker, piped up next, grinning, "Yeah, hyung, I need tips. If you can tame Namjoon hyung, maybe I can learn a thing or two."
Taehyung was no less eager, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Come on, tell us how this all started! We’ve waited long enough!"
Jin blushed a deep shade of red, clearly overwhelmed by all the attention. His eyes flicked to Namjoon for help, but Namjoon, who was used to staying calm in high-pressure situations, simply shook his head. "We’ll answer all your questions," Namjoon said, his voice calm but firm. "But today has been exhausting. Let’s talk about it tomorrow. We promise we’ll tell you everything, but we need to rest tonight."
Mrs. Kim, not one to be deterred, immediately started fussing over Jin, checking his forehead and hands as if he were a child who had just come home from a long day. "Of course, you need rest!" she exclaimed, her maternal instincts kicking in. "You’ve been through so much. And besides, tomorrow is Sunday. You’re not going anywhere, so we can talk all day! You’re going to live here with us now, right?"
Jin nodded, smiling shyly. "Yes, I’m staying here."
That declaration seemed to send another wave of excitement through the family. Namjoon noticed the way Yoongi and J-Hope exchanged loving glances, the comfort they took in each other now more apparent than ever. The same could be said for Tae and Jungkook, who were practically beaming with joy.
But Mrs. Kim’s overprotective side took over, and she immediately declared, "Well, since you two aren’t married yet, Jin will sleep with J-Hope tonight, and Yoongi, you’ll be sleeping with Namjoon." Her voice left no room for argument.
Yoongi’s face turned sour, and he immediately cursed under his breath. "Are you serious? Because of you, Namjoon, I can’t sleep with my wife tonight," Yoongi grumbled, glaring at his younger brother. "This is all your fault."
Namjoon rolled his eyes, clearly frustrated but not surprised by Yoongi’s reaction. "Hyung, I’m suffering too, alright? It’s not just you who’s separated from their significant other tonight. We’ll survive one night."
Tae and Jungkook, who had been quiet until now, exchanged relieved glances, silently thanking all the powers of the universe that their mother remained blissfully unaware of the fact that they had snuck into Jimin’s bed plenty of times before. The thought of getting caught made their hearts race, but the relief they felt in that moment was almost palpable.
As the family slowly started to disperse for the night, Yoongi pulled Namjoon aside, his expression more serious now. "Namjoon," Yoongi began quietly, "what happened with that girl? The one who cursed you?"
Namjoon’s face darkened, and he took a deep breath before responding. "She’s gone, hyung. She took the curse back upon herself. The old lady had warned her that if she failed, the curse would fall on her, and her soul would turn to ashes. That’s exactly what happened." His voice was heavy with emotion as he continued, "She’s no more."
Yoongi nodded, understanding the weight of what Namjoon had experienced. He didn’t press further, knowing that his brother had been through enough for one day. "Get some rest, Namjoon. Tomorrow is going to be… interesting," Yoongi said with a small smirk before heading to his temporary room.
Meanwhile, Namjoon lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, his mind replaying the events of the day. He thought of the girl who had once loved him, her sacrifice, and the weight of the curse that had been lifted. But most of all, he thought of Jin—the delicate, precious person he had vowed to protect no matter what. The soft sound of rain began to patter against the windows, and Namjoon felt a strange sense of calm wash over him.
